I haven't seen all of last night's Idol (still need to watch my fave Michael), but I don't think Adam has anything to fear! I thought most of the contestants seemed nervous, and it showed in their voices. And the band was so loud! I wonder if it was like that in the house or if it was just the feed to TV, but it was awful. I hope they fix that for the upcoming shows. I thought Ada was quite a few notches below her previous performances. With four being eliminated tonight, I think she could be in danger.

Michael was good. The band was really loud. Judging from Youtube views....Catie as usual has way more views.....followed by Gabby then Jurnee and Mara have about the same. The lowest from last nite are Garrett, Dennis, Marcio and Jonny. I expect maybe 3 of those to leave.

I agree that Ada was not as great as some but I still enjoyed her and think she is safe. As for Michael...I also really like him but did not enjoy this performance as much as most....it seemed that he is over using the template of starting off quietly and slowly but steadily ramping it up....felt formulaic this time...hope I am wrong. I really like Catie and think she did well. The band really was too loud and overpowering much of the time...hard to say if that was just for the television audience but that needs fixing pronto. I do not for the life of me see the attraction to Jonny...or a couple of the others. I am so over praising young men for being fathers...seriously? young women raise children on their own all the time .... why is it so special when the caretaker has external genitalia!! grrrr There were some really weak performances too, imho...more about song choices than poor singing...I usually am OK with Cade?[the rocker but I thought he came off as superficial this time...again, jmho. Do I sound crabby...lol...sorry...had a great but long Birthday day....so I am still rather weary! Thanks for the cake Betty .... could use one of those confections to get me going this morning

I work in a museum, and one of my co-workers, whom I've known for a long time, is a guy who immigrated from Russia and is now an art handler. He used to be a professional musician and composer back in Georgia, but like so many immigrants, when he came here he found there are no jobs for his profession. But he volunterily formed a museum choir, which he trains, conducts and accompanies on keys, and he does an amazing job with that. Today he happened to mention to me that he flew with his son on a weekend to Barcelona to see the sites and attend a football match. I told him I did the same a couple of years back, only I flew to London and combined it with a show, not a football match. I told him I went to see Queen, not so much for Queen, but for their current frontman. I didn't have to say anything further; He knew right away who I was talking about, and said he's an amazing singer with a crazy range. He said the things he's done during AI were unbelievable. I asked whether he's heard him sing WWTLF and he said yes, of course, and it's out of this world. So apparently he's watched Youtubes. But the thing which meant the most to me was not what he said, but how he said it: he talked about Adam as if it's abvious that he's one of the best singers out there, as if it's a well known fact, everybody knows it, and the discussion is redundant. I like this - especially the last paragraph.

That the awareness of Adam's talents go far beyond just us.

Never tire of watching the Holy Trinity: Lay Me Down, Shady and Fever. Those three songs together are a mini-masterpiece.
