I was there last night. The audience shock when Ada and Jurnee did not make it was LOUD!! The chanting of Ada was boisterous! So sad that it had to take the judges to put through 4 minorities into the Top 10! On this, I agree 100% with Lyndsey!

So the judges had to save Jurnee and Adam so they could stay on? Well, that was lucky for them. They will live to sing another day. And I get the whole thing about Idol being "inclusive" and "open-minded," etc. But at the same time, it isn't really right to advance a contestant because he or she is gay either. They also need to have the vocals skills. I'm not saying that Jurnee and Ada don't have them, but obviously, the fans responded by saying that there was bias against them at the first cut, presumably because of their sexuality. So the judges had to save them. I know that the producers of the show want to include "types." The subway busker, the church choir kid, the girl whose dad just died, the young single dad with a baby, the kid from a poverty-level family, the one with the "novelty" factor, etc. etc. Once the voting is given to the viewers, all bets are off. Viewers vote for many different reasons, singing talent being just one of them. Obviously, the viewers strongly wanted Jurnee and Ada to stay. We'll see if the viewers keep up their support. Bottom line, IMO, the winner should be someone who is "the whole package." Voice, demeanor, look (not necessarily the prettiest or the handsomest), attitude, charisma, likability. All the things that will get people to buy their music once the season is over. That's when the hard part starts.

And I hope Adam's "bizmeeting" is something big and important! Always love hearing that things are brewing behind the scenes.

I think Jurnee was really surprised when she wasn't in the top 6...she seemed stunned. Ada just seemed grateful to get to stay. I'm glad we'll get to see them both again. I'm sure Idol, the show, loved all the drama. Looking at FB likes and YT views kinda gives you an idea of who's liking who. On YT views Jurnee and Mara were about the same after last week. Catie had the most and has had since the beginning. Ada was down some from her early high views. I think TSMGO didn't help her any. I'd like to see Ada do something more intimate and restrained...mix it up some...show versatility. I prefer early Jurnee to Bang Bang Jurnee...JMHO. I'm not a country fan, but as we know lots of heartland folks watch Idol...so Caleb Lee does nothing for me. I like Gabby when she sings other than country. She's got the look, confidence, etc. and the prettiest teeth. I can't help but look at her gorgeous teeth...lol. I think all the judges like her....especially Bryan. Lyndsey is getting an earfull in her many comments. She made her post political. It's her post and she can post her feelings. Lyndsey has already made her favorites known. She agreed with 3 of the top 6...Michael, Cade and Maddie....but not with Caleb Lee, Catie and Gabby (who she calls "golden girl"). I get the impression she doesn't like Gabby at all and sees her as a threat to Jurnee. JMHO. I like all the Top 10 contestants (Michelle and Caleb Lee, and maybe Catie not so much...lol) One thing's for sure.....there is no Adam Lambert in the top 10.

I like all the Top 10 contestants (Michelle and Caleb Lee, and maybe Catie not so much...lol) One thing's for sure.....there is no Adam Lambert in the top 10. Talked to my sister about AI last night. She an avid watcher. She said that the contestants seem to want to choose lots of big "belter" songs, thinking that those songs show off their voices the best. We talked about how it is just as important to be able to sing quiet songs with skill and control and power as it is to sing the big loud songs. We talked about when Simon gave Adam a standing ovation for Mad World. It was the first SO that Simon had ever given a contestant. And it was for a slow, quiet song, but sung with that powerful Lambert perfection. She gave me a nice perspective on the show, which is all I need. She likes Jurnee and Ada but it not head or heels for them. She thought TSMGO was a mistake for Ada. She doesn't think either one will go the full distance. Have to laugh about Lyndsey getting an earful! LOL Suggesting that Ada could take the stage with Queen is pretty sacrilegious, at least around. I got a chuckle out of that.
