So you didn't see all the tweets I posted here it seems. There were plenty who also compared the contestants vocally to Adam. Not only looks. Gabrielle Leimon @gabrielleleimon Vocally #Netherlands are giving me Adam Lambert vibes - I love this, reminds me of my Dad #Eurovision Do you think, he sounded like Adam? I told my friend, that the Dutch contestant would be great in Nashville. š And one tweet (or two or three) are nothing compared to all the rest. But I agree: itās getting better. People start to know Adam for more than his looks. I didn't agree no, but the tweeter apparently thought so. I didn't agree with most of the comparisons, but it is nice that there are so many people thinking about Adam during this show. It's funny and we shouldn't think to much of it I guess.

Sound like Adam to me as well. Guess he went back to LA: Angel_nDisguise @angel_nDisguise MAY 11: Not sure, but it sounds like Adam in the background at The Hotel Cafe in LA during Alisan's performance. His friends Ferras and Sarah Hudson also performed. (IG stories posted by Ferras - combined www.instagram.com/ferras/ ) This is also OT but the other day I saw a headline that fanny packs were back -- on trend!Ā I thought to myself that I remember when they were incredibly nerdy!Ā And then I see this -- Alisan with a fanny pack!Ā lol So I am now back in fashion! I've always worn a fanny pack instead if a purse, unless dressed to the nines. So practical and much less stressful on my back.

There are a lot of really good singers in the theater world. Fortunately, Adam was able to successfully contest the "too theatrical" label when he went through the Idol auditions. I think it is so unfortunate that the music industry focuses on specific genres and age groups. I get it, it's a business but I find it disheartening. I'm glad Adam made it through the gauntlet but we all know he has worked his ass off to get as far as he has. Others seem to have success handed to them on a platter.

I think Adam has become a global standard for someone who can sing. While he is not the most financially successful Idol alum, I honestly think he is the most renowned globally -- and that is mostly because of Idol + 7 years of QAL. (I am not counting the Idol Finale performance -- just there pro career together.) I think you make a major point. Adam is often mentioned world-wide as a vocal master. And as for Idol alums, I don't think any Idol contestant, Kelly C. included, is considered to be in his league, esp by an international audience. And Idol aside, Adam has a really healthy global fan base. I love this list of tweets that mention his name as someone to admire and respect as a superior vocalist. It's a world-wide compliment to him. As for comparing certain singers to Adam---no way! Sure, there are some good singers out there, but nobody sounds like he does. And I agree that some of these "comparers" may not have seen Adam for quite a while.

(I am not counting the Idol Finale performance -- just there pro career together.) I agree with you, that Adam is probably the best known idol alumni globally. Maybe Kelly Clarkson is there as well, but I havenāt heard of her lately. I donāt really think, that the people on twitter do all these Adam comparisons, because the contestants can SING that good. š There are a lot of queer contestants and whenever someone wears black eyeliner and looks queer, he/she is called an Adam double... Itās nice, that they all know about Adam. And that he seems to be considered as the best known gay singer. But for me Adam is more than that. It has an simpleton or sometimes even negative touch to me. Yes, I was just speaking generally -- but I guess Adam is the most famous "Gay Pop Singer" under the age or 40 (that eliminates Elton John). While Sam Smith has been more successful in terms of recorded music sales, Adam has a stronger association with "gay." Just a guess because I don't think that is measured. And Adam no longer is in the Q-Score Celebrity survey.

I'm glad Adam made it through the gauntlet but we all know he has worked his ass off to get as far as he has. Others seem to have success handed to them on a platter. I understand your point and certainly agree with you that there are countless good singers in the world. And certainly, Adam is theatrical -- but that is also what makes his concerts -- solo or Queen so captivating. But I can't think of anyone who has been an overnight success and lasted. I am sure there is someone but I don't know of one successful musician -- vocalist or not -- who has not worked their asses off. Sometimes we just don't know the story. For example, if Rachael Platten had not opened for Adam, I would never have known either how old she was nor how hard she had worked to finally get a hit. While Adam was in theater productions, he also was involved with his own electro-pop music, fronted a rock band, did Zodiac, +++ along with session and demo work since he was 18. Even in high school he was in a Jazz vocal group. So while he was born "theatrical" it seems, musically he has been diverse. So when he walked on the Idol stage, he was not just some theater kid. If he was, I don't think he would have done so well.

I've always thought fanny packs were very practical (but I don't wear one). It's interesting how different generations view fashion trends. It has shown up here recently with comments on Adam's shirt which we are told is on trend, but which many of us see as an old fashioned bowling shirt!
