So excited! Off to the airport for my one and only LAS VEGAS show. Taking a friend who likes Queen but has never seen Queen live, QAL or Adam Lambert. Should be interesting.

Cute animal video of the day. @dodo: PAY ATTENTION TO ME!!! /video/1 I know it is cute and all but as I was looking at that, I had two cats...one on each side of me...trying to suffocate me and knead me...head butt...rub chins on my reading glasses...the whole shebang and it was frustrating me sooo much I was ready to heave the both of them across the room....so, I was having trouble seeing the humor in that vid....cranky that early in the am. LOL ymmv

Thought I would repost this from yesterday so I don't feel I am just talking to myself. Hi Everyone. Wanted to make a few comments on my first show. It was unbelieable. What a tight, gorgeous, energetic love fest. My seat was ostensibly next to Bama in the first row on Spike's side at the little mini bluge where Adam sings Somebody to Love among other things. I went into the theater early and was shocked to receive a wrist band. I wasn't expecting one. I thought it was only for those who had seats 1 and 2 on the catwalk. I was even more shocked when I was told I could stand anywhere. Did I mention I got there early? I made a beeline for that sweet spot where the thrust meets the stage (and yes, where Adam walks down for RGG) The vids told me a whole lot of singing goes on right there. I swear if I extended my hand and Brian extended his, they would touch. All fatigue from being in a three hour different time zone melted. One of the highlights for me was a trio of Queen fans - men of an uncertain age - who were further up the thrust on my side. Since I looked their way when the action switched to the B stage I could see their every reaction. They were ecstatic with Adam to the point of jabbing each other when he did a run or held a note long or some naughty gesture. Their faces were priceless. Being that close, the overwhelming first hand witness of the energy Adam pours into every second of the performance is nothing short of miraculous as is the fact that the performance appears effortless and natural. Only the sweat and some throat muscles belie that. Equally overwhelming is the beauty, penetration, nuance and control of that voice. Didn't hurt that he is one gorgeous man. OMG. Did he look amazing. Head to toe; front to back. And the sleek, slinky movements and the goofy ones. The camp, the intensity, the joy - all appropriate and genuine. I also was swept into Dr May's world of performing. That closed eyes space he is transported to where every line on his face reflects what is going on with his fingers and whole body. I love the characteristic way his body is weighted with that one leg and toe out a bit. I love his tilted head alive with listening. And I adore the body language between Adam and Brian. They are a menage en tois with the muse of music. I am in the 202 or 204 section first or second row so a very different view. Not expecting that same intensity but probably acoustically even better. And of course, one never knows what seats might get released though it seems like these tickets are the hottest ones in town. Place was packed and looks like the last two shows are a sell out Get to see Atoppers for lunch Saturday. So looking forward to that and especially to hug Momtomany.
