Being that close, the overwhelming first hand witness of the energy Adam pours into every second of the performance is nothing short of miraculous as is the fact that the performance appears effortless and natural. Only the sweat and some throat muscles belie that. Equally overwhelming is the beauty, penetration, nuance and control of that voice. Didn't hurt that he is one gorgeous man. OMG. Did he look amazing. Head to toe; front to back. And the sleek, slinky movements and the goofy ones. The camp, the intensity, the joy - all appropriate and genuine. I love recaps! Your descriptions just about cover it all, theosgma. Thanks for sharing your Adam time with us!

Thought I would repost this from yesterday so I don't feel I am just talking to myself. Hi Everyone. Wanted to make a few comments on my first show. It was unbelieable. What a tight, gorgeous, energetic love fest. My seat was ostensibly next to Bama in the first row on Spike's side at the little mini bluge where Adam sings Somebody to Love among other things. I went into the theater early and was shocked to receive a wrist band. I wasn't expecting one. I thought it was only for those who had seats 1 and 2 on the catwalk. I was even more shocked when I was told I could stand anywhere. Did I mention I got there early? I made a beeline for that sweet spot where the thrust meets the stage (and yes, where Adam walks down for RGG) The vids told me a whole lot of singing goes on right there. I swear if I extended my hand and Brian extended his, they would touch. All fatigue from being in a three hour different time zone melted. One of the highlights for me was a trio of Queen fans - men of an uncertain age - who were further up the thrust on my side. Since I looked their way when the action switched to the B stage I could see their every reaction. They were ecstatic with Adam to the point of jabbing each other when he did a run or held a note long or some naughty gesture. Their faces were priceless. I also was swept into Dr May's world of performing. That closed eyes space he is transported to where every line on his face reflects what is going on with his fingers and whole body. I love the characteristic way his body is weighted with that one leg and toe out a bit. I love his tilted head alive with listening. And I adore the body language between Adam and Brian. They are a menage en tois with the muse of music. I am in the 202 or 204 section first or second row so a very different view. Not expecting that same intensity but probably acoustically even better. And of course, one never knows what seats might get released though it seems like these tickets are the hottest ones in town. Place was packed and looks like the last two shows are a sell out Get to see Atoppers for lunch Saturday. So looking forward to that and especially to hug Momtomany. I usually read this on my phone where I can't post so it's taken my awhile to get to my computer to post about the show in Vegas on 9/08 but here it is. My daughter and I had WONDERFUL time. The show was totally amazing and I really enjoyed watching the reactions of the couple next to me who had never seen a QAL show and told me how much they enjoyed the show. They especially like the special effects, Adam's "amazing voice" and seeing and hearing Brian and Roger. When we returned to our hotel, the MGM Grand, we met a few people in the elevator who had also just seen the show and they were absolutely beaming about what an amazing show it was. Now for the fun sorta stalker part (LOL): My daughter is a Howard Stern uber fan and she heard some performers discussing their residencies in Vegas and telling about their accommodations. They said that each large hotel has a special place behind the hotel where they accommodate the performers. Well, surely enough, when we went behind the MGM Grand (our hotel) there it was. It's called the MGM Mansion and you could see how beautiful it is. We waited until a limo with black tinted windows pulled in through the security gates to see the front entrance and I recognized it from some images Adam had posted. I also wanted to add that I got tickets for The Blue Man Group show at the Luxor for the night after we saw QAL and I highly recommend it. It was both fun and funny and those guys have some amazing talent. We laughed, we got splattered with mashed bananas, I participated by catching marshmallows in my mouth, and my daughter tried to avoid eye contact so she wouldn't have to participate but still had a great time.

I wanted to add something else I don't think I included in my small recap from last weekend...On the 15th, there was one place ... I think it was the incredible "Why" from Under Pressure....when Adam was right in front of me and I had a side profile view. Not only could you see the tongue action he uses to facilitate a smooth passagio from chest through to the top of his range without going into falsetto but you could see his whole lower cheek/face and upper neck actually vibrate! It was quite amazing to see and it does not show in the video's. No wonder he has had so much trouble with his in-ear monitors....his front ear area visibly shimmies.... I have never noticed that before although Cassie has explained it and I 'knew' it happened...it was quite dramatic. And that "why" was off the charts.....phenomenal....

One more post after a long absence here: I went to see my college team play football last night (great game and they won) and the band played both "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "We Will Rock You" at halftime. Despite that fact that I may have the very worst singing voice of any person who has ever lived, I could not resist singing along and just hope that the band was so loud that no one was forced to be tortured by my tone-deaf squawking and squealing.
