I guess I have not been paying close attention. I knew there had been resistance to Adam because I followed him from the beginning. But I thought they liked Sam. And because the media was singing the praises of how Troye was somehow more bold than those who came before him, I assumed he was well loved too. But when Troye gave that interview and I looked at the comments I was pretty surprised to see he was not cared for (at least from the comments). There are so few out there with much success but I had only been paying attention to Adam. I knew there was a lot of love for the Divas and dance music tho. On another note, it may be my imagination but it seems that Adam is getting a lot more admiration from men. And they are not men who are hitting on him but praising his voice and talent. Could be the Queen effect or some of his televised performances that don't include dance like music (as some mistakenly thought was all he did). "Believe" and "Girl Crush" for example. Whatever it is it makes me happy. Would love to see him expand his audience. Now bring on Elvis, lol. It looks as if he will throw in a few dance moves for that but it won't be with choreographed dancers so it will feel and look more organic and rock and roll.

For some reason, the gays like their female divas like Beyonce, Gaga, etc. and additionally there may be a bit of jealousy or resentment toward successes of their own. That's my uninformed guess as I only follow Adam who seems to have a very generous spirit. He sure loves his divas though. On the other hand, for a gay male artist to become successful it takes a mainstream following, doesn't it? I saw a big turning point with "Believe". That performance literally hit everybody's "sweet spot" and since then I too have noticed a lot more praise in general, and especially from straight men. I am excited about the Elvis tribute but I have my doubts that it will have the same impact. I think it is smart of Adam to release his new music soon as he is still in peoples' minds. Fingers crossed.
