I just watched the documentary about Sam Cooke. What I found very interesting was that he was a success singing Gospel music but wanted more. Some tried to discourage him from branching out past his roots and community. But he wanted to be known around the world and reach a wide range of people and music. He said it would have an impact on the people who came after him. Good for him for not letting others define him or keep or put him in a box. Of course when he started to sing "A Change is Gonna Come" I could not help but think of Adam. When he sang it on idol with such passion and feeling it really hurt. The song is still very important and relevant to many today waiting, hoping and pushing for a change. Although I was a little young for his heyday, Sam Cooke has always been one of my favorite singers. He had a voice like melted butter, rich and smooth. I always loved his "You Send Me." Thanks for sharing a bit of his background here. I don't think I ever heard Sam sing "A Change is Gonna Come." That song has such a universal message for any era. Of course, it's one of Adam's many highlights on Idol. It's interesting that so many singers, like Sam, came out of gospel music or their church choirs. I think Aretha Franklin first sang in her church choir. I'd love to see that documentary on him. It just came out on Netflix recently. I didn't know much about him either. It was something to see. The way money was stolen from those entertainers was shameful. RCA was featured for him and Elvis. Smokey Robinson talked about what he knew of him and the impact. And they touched on Aretha and her father's church when Sam performed there. They had really good footage of the past but talked to some older ones who knew him. He was really good looking and his death tragic. Won't say more as others may want to see it. But it is not always good to make your private life/associations so public as you never know who is watching or why.

Sweet. I see nail polish on Javi, which is new to me. Good to know that he is "around" while Adam is sick, regardless if he moved in or not.

I just realized that due to a typo, my comment on page 4 didn't make sense...
Correction: "... However, I feel for those Adam fans who are (typo) aren't into his collaboration with Queen. They must sit on pins and needles waiting for new music. We'll get there."

skaschep thanks! What about the years before. Was there ever a year without a new song before? 2009 fyi dropped, 2012 trespassing came out, in 2013 he did "love wins over glamor" and "lay me down"? Just in case anyone was interested: Pink recorded the whole soundtrack of greatest showman because she likes it so much. One song even features her daughter. What's even more impressive than the box office for Greatest Showman is the soundtrack sales. In an age where album sales are so hard to come by. variety.com/2019/music/news/greatest-showman-soundtrack-tops-2018-album-sales-chart-1203100203/I love the Greatest Showman and agree it's far from a perfect movie. Tiny correction on the "Greatest Showman Reimagined" soundtrack. It is not just Pink, but lots of current artists. Kelly Clarkson's "Never Enough" is simply stunning. Pink only did Million Dreams and the reprise (with her daughter).

It always amazes me that there are so many honors for so many great singers who have died. While Adam who is probably the best male singer of this generation sometimes is taken for granted..Honor the man of the hour ,day, month ,year ,generation... No voice like Adams. would like to add ,I love many of his original songs ,they actually say something. Most music of today can be forgotten in minutes. Just saying.. Get well Adam the flu is miserable ,always thinking of you with love..

And I usually don't like female singers. And she's just sitting on a chair.
