I have something cute to share, which also happens to involve Adam. A few years ago I worked with Kristen, who was a production assistant at Playboy TV (I was in the law department). She would come by to talk about my production notes, and one time she noticed a picture of Adam on my PC monitor. She said she was dating someone who used to work for Adam. He worked with Dana Collins at Direct Management. I tried to stay cool, but she learned quickly of my obsession, and asked Marc to get me a signed photo and other stuff. I asked her a few questions throughout the years about Adam's life, but we both kept it discreet. She and Marc have since married and moved to Rhode Island to start a senior dog retirement home. I think he also remains the Senior Director for National Mission Advancement, at Best Friends Animal Society. Dana Collins is also involved with Best Friends. Kristen told me that Adam sends Marc little texts all the time, and stays connected, even though they haven't worked together for awhile. Anyway, this was recently in People Magazine. It's about their senior dog retirement home, and it's the cutest story. Enjoy! people.com/pets/senior-dog-separation-anxiety/ Thanks for sharing......cute article! Always nice to know somebody who knows somebody. Also nice to know that Adam is as nice as we suspected.

I wish I understood how my local HAC radio station works. When Adam has new music out they never play him before or unless he reaches top 20. In the early days, when they played all popular Idols, Cook, Kris, Daughtry, Kelly would start getting play as soon as something was released. When WWFM reached top 20 and started to get play, it was already loosing spins on other stations. They were aware of Adam because his sexuality was a topic of conversation in the early years just not his music. Thankfully that talk and apparent fun stopped later tho. But when Ghost Town finally reached top 20 it was played only a little while before it was done. ALN only reached 25 so it never got any play on my local station. I have heard them play "Killer Queen" by 20Sec. and they are not even charting. "Speechless" by Dan and Shay (country act) is being played tho they have not reached top 20 yet but they will. What happens, does someone just decide that they can't play Adam unless he reaches top 20? Do they have to give a reason why that does not apply to others? I know my favorite DJ likes Adam because we would email each other and he would say as much. Always encouraging me to hang in there. When he could finally start to play Adam, he always seemed as happy as I was. I know there are some who think radio is not important but it is important and useful to the artists who can get it. We can see that with the drop on itunes for "Feel Something" with no radio release/play. My concern is if majors had a hard time getting Adam to top 20 is there any hope that Empire can? I hope so. Or maybe I am just out of luck on hearing him on the radio again. When he releases new music to radio I want to hear him there. I have other ways to hear him and I do but it makes me sad because I do still listen to radio. And those who get the award show performances, high chart positions, nominations and arena shows are being played there and everywhere else all the time.

Check out this list of who owns radio stations www.insideradio.com/resources/who_owns_what/ If their national program manager doesn't put your on the list of possibilities then you are out of luck. Cumulus was the original - not on our shows - but there is so much national programming that only a few drive-time local djs are working and most of them talk 70% of the time instead of playing music.

Yep, I remember that the Cumulus block treated Adam differently from the other Idols and RCA really had to fight to get him there. But my station is not Cumulus and it plays music all day. So I was just wondering out loud how they justified holding Adam up until he reached top 20 but it did not apply to others. What would they give as a reason? But I know no one here would know so I guess I was just venting, lol.

The People article was very cute also, so amazing that the "Marc" mannequin comforted the pooch!

I would sure like to hear Adam on the radio again too. I listen to Sirius Hits 1 mostly, and they've never played Adam much. I know nothing, but I think there is compensation involved somehow for the stations. On Sirius, they're often giving away "a row a show" so the artist gives a row of seats to a concert to Sirius for a contest (why would they do this unless it garners them radio play). Also, when Adam used to visit radio stations for interviews and acoustic performances, I'm sure it was in trade for radio play (or hoped for radio play). Adam always worked so hard for the spins he got. And I'm sure the labels work in many behind the scenes ways. When some artists get this "play every hour" deal for a new song, I'm sure the radio station isn't doing that because they like the song so much lol.
I doubt Empire has the resources that RCA or Warner had. But I was encouraged by an article or two I read that said Empire does have a radio team (or at least a person). If a song is so good, sometimes it organically catches on and blows up. I hope that for Adam's single when he releases it. And for the biggest push that Empire, Adam and his management (if they're involved) can provide. But as many have pointed out, radio is less important than it used to be, and maybe even less important to Adam when he evaluated what he had to do, what it cost him and what it got him at radio (for all we know).
While I want radio and EVERYTHING there is for Adam, I believe that Adam's happiness and freedom to create and express himself in the ways he directs are more important. So I have to believe that what was meant to happen will happen for Adam and for us as fans. As long as I can keep seeing him and hearing him, I'm happy.
