I know I'm a terrible fan for saying this, but I don't feel it's my "job" to keep track of Adam's music charting, or keeping track of streams...that's what his management or people are supposed to do. I will do my part by buying and/or streaming, but beyond that it becomes a chore.
I know nothing about what Adam and his people have projected as far as sales/streams, or what their strategy is for releasing singles, or the release of the album, or what radio does or doesn't do...why stress every day? I know we all love him and want him to do "well", but whose definition of "doing well" are we using?
I want to enjoy Adam's music, I love his voice...I don't want it to be a chore.
All of the above, only my opinion. I really, truly admire those of you who are so involved in pushing his music.

To me It's not a chore , I enjoy plugging Adam.. different strokes.. infact I wait for new music so that I can get busy.. When Adam's first cds came out My DH and I went from store to store to make sure Adam's cds were where everybody could see them. If we didn't see his album we would complain to the store management.. Of course this was before streaming.. Boy how things have changed.. Everybody has their own course this is mine.. Gives me pleasure.

The fact that Adam is following Jeremiah from Idol makes me happy. My heart dropped when he left way too early. I really like his voice. I know, not everybody feels like me. Thanks, bamafan ! I listened to a couple of Jeremiah's songs on YT and I did like his voice; he sounds really good singing with Ben Platt in that Insta. He'd be a great opener for one of Adam's concerts...better than Alex? Was that his name? I don't really like his voice. I think I'd check it out if Jeremiah gets to record some music; of course, it just occurred to me, I don't know his last name lol. Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon is his name. He would be a wayyyyy better opener for me than Alex. You can't really compare them though.

Here is my playlist again with New Eyes and Feel Something. Also for the users for a free subscription playlists like this are nice because they can't put the song on repeat. #NowPlaying my @adamlambert singles playlist with #NewEyes and #FeelSomething If all play this playlist a couple of time per day we can get #NewEyes to lots more streams! Remember streams for both New Eyes and Feel Something also count towards #Velvet! This is great! Thank you.
Remember, iTunes does not matter much because it is temporary and has no official purpose; but the Billboard Hot 100 does.
Streams in the Billboard Hot 100:
As of Nielsen’s third quarter of 2018 (sales and streaming week of June 29 to July 5, 2018, which will be reflected on Billboard charts dated July 14, 2018)...
Billboard has two defined types of streaming plays for the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart (and our other genre-specific hybrid songs charts):
1. On-demand (such as Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube) - count more!! Paid subscription streams (1 point value per play) and ad-supported streams like YouTube and Spotify Free (2/3-point value per play).
PAID STREAMS COUNT THE MOST!!
2. Programmed (such as Pandora and Slacker Radio) - count less - 1/2 point value per play.
Streaming remains the most dominant factor on the Hot 100 chart, followed by radio airplay and digital sales in descending order of significance.
The Hot 100 weighting is 1 download (digital sale) = 75 stream points = 1000 airplay points. NE will have no US airplay this week, so it needs streams.
Fastest way to help NE chart, stream on Spotify Premium or other paid streaming service. If you do not have a paid subscription, use an ad-supported service. Avoid Pandora and other programmed services. There does not appear to be any limit to the number of Spotify streams that are counted vs. YouTube which does not count all the streams.
The Hot 100 chart week is: Streaming and sales data - Friday through Thursday
Radio airplay - Monday through Sunday
So, for example the chart dated June 1, 2019 (next chart) will include: Streaming and sales data - 5/17 - 5/23
Radio airplay - 5/20 - 5/26
The way Billboard does the charts varies by chart.

I thought we weren’t supposed to put songs on repeat? I have a playlist alternating NE every third song. I’d love to just have it play over an over lol. Depends if you are on YouTube or Spotify. YouTube does not count "low quality plays" and repeat plays are low quality; Spotify counts repeats.

I have Spotify running in the background on my computer. I've muted the sound through my volume mixer so it's not bothering me and it will stream as long as I have my computer turned on. YouTube I use my playlist, but I also go to Adam's channel and play it from there a couple of times per day. I also have that tab muted or will unmute it if I want to listen to it. I have subscribed to Apple Music last week on my phone for a free trial for 3 months and made a playlist there as well with New Eyes and some other Adam songs. I play that a couple of times per day if I think about it. Sometimes with the earplugs in the phone so it doesn't bother me either, but more often I have that on low volume running if I walk around the house or cycle home from work. I love working with numbers and it's interesting to me how everything reacts to the promo and other stuff. New Eyes is increasing in streams the last two days while Feel Something was dropping from the start. That shows me that more people are checking it out than Feel Something. Of course the promo for it is a bit more, but it hasn't been that much yet. I have a feeling there is lots more to come! We definitely have not seen the last of it yet!

So are you saying that for Spotify there's no need to add NE to a playlist with other songs for it to count? For the stream count on Spotify it doesn't matter how you play it yes. If you put it on repeat, in a playlist or just play it now or then Spotify doesn't care. All streams will be added to the stream count of the song. However repeat plays are vetted for the charts. Some think your account may get flagged even if you put it on repeat. From other artists experiences they heard that only 1 stream was counted for some people. I don't have the right info for that, but there are articles where they say that streams are looked at before they count for the charts. Yes, I just reconfirmed this -- you can repeat play on Spotify -- as long as you do not start to look like a volume play bot. In other words, act like a human -- mix in other songs, or stop and start for a while.
I don't think it is that complicated, just do things to act like a human who loves that song, and not a bot playing on repeat.
***
Spotify play counts:
1. When you restart a song, it will count as a play as long as 30 seconds are listened to. Skipping the last 5 seconds of a song does not hurt the artist.
2. Spotify counts it as a stream whether it be started manually or through the repeat feature, just as long as at least 30 seconds of the song is played.
3. Offline listens are counted and sent to Spotify's server the next time you connect to the Internet. Private listening mode plays are counted.
4. Spotify uses a formula that protects against any artificial inflation of plays - mostly for bot play prevention.
5. Canvas views are counted differently. Spotify Canvas is in beta and only some artists have access.
Abusive accounts: Some specific Spotify accounts are not counted -- they have not provided the standard for this but my bet is if an account play one track and only one track a lot, that might be a clue.
JMHO -- don't do anything that looks like a bot or artificial plays. Humans listen to songs on repeat for 10 or 12 times but not 1000 times. So build a playlist with multiple songs -- and maybe consider using multiple playlists during a day.
Finally, Billboard (Neilsen) and Spotify are both working on something inspired by the BTS superfans who spoofed streaming and had Korean fans streaming US Spotify accounts in massive numbers. YT only got into the BB chart after they started to remove the low-quality views -- I don't think this was a coincidence since spoofing YT accounts and using bots has be rampant for years.

Adam always seems very happy with YouTube numbers.. 2 million for 'New Eyes' got us a huge video thank you and a kiss from him . I like that a lot LOL..... So I go with Adam's pleasure.. Spotify is great too.. I am determined to work toward another kiss from him What feels like a chore to some helps me channel my energy a bit. I think each of us fans contributes in their own unique ways.

Seems like a no brainer then to play NE on repeat, at least until it starts to chart, which might happen after it's been televised performed live somewhere.
