100% think you are right....I sort of said the same some time back. He needed to get the other out to shape his own better and he can add much better extensions this next time [if he does] and they will feel and look better. Or...he may just let it grow...though that does not seem to be his usual MO. lol. Either way, he is looking GREAT! I rather like the return of the eye makeup too...always did like that most of the time!! I think the new hair looks "cleaner" and no doubt that he will play around with it some. I can't stand the heavy liquid eyeliner though as it makes his eyes almost disappear. Not sure why he needed to go for that look during the art show. I like softer make-up though and more of a smudged, smokey eyeliner.
I was feeling a little uninspired last Spring and decided to take a two month, weekend makeup course at a professional beauty school. One of the first things they thought was was that using heavy eyeliner, especially on the lower lid is a no no for people with eyes on the smaller size as it "closes" your eye instead of making it pop. Couldn't agree more as a human with smaller eyes and hooded lid myself.

I have hooded lids also. One of the very helpful things I've learned from Adam's makeup is to use a little white eye liner on the inner corners of the eye, about 1/4" on both upper and lower lid. It really helps open up my eyes. I even noticed that Adam did this in the picture the other day where folks were raving about the no makeup look. Also, I've noticed he sometimes uses a little white or vanilla shadow just under the eyebrow. This helps open up my eyes too.

Just watched the Ellen performance and totally agree with everyone that it was leaps and bounds over the Idol performance. It needs the instrumental bridge and the drawn out ending to maintain the soulful vibe. Up the volume on the bass just a little and it would be perfect. The drummer was excellent too, not too staccato. The tour could have lots of band improv here which would be great. If he uses the same lead guitarist for the tour, and as they get to know each other better, I can see lots of fun interaction. She seems very personable.

Yes! Also, a little touch of darker shade shadow on the outer corner of the lid (so called "V shape")and a touch of highlighter over the brow. I love playing with makeup.

I am not much into make-up, and I mostly use mascara only, but one of the "make-up 101's" that I picked up over the years is that heavy eyeliner on the lower lid is not flattering for people with smaller eyes and that in general eyeliner on the outer edges of the lids makes the eyes "pop" more. I think I vaguely remember that Adam worked as a make-up person for Macy's once and I am always surprised when he drowns his eyes in heavy eyeliner. That hasn't happened much lately though and I think that most of his latest make-up is really good, and that for me includes the photo shoots and appearances.

Adam is not on here until 3:00pm Pacific Time -- so I can't even read the thread until later. But I am looking forward to this performance.

I am just echoing what everybody already said: the Ellen show performance was really amazing, much better than on American Idol. I love the recording, but nothing beats Adam Lambert singing a song live, playing with it the way he wants to. I had a feeling when New Eyes first came out that we would get a lot of different versions of it once he starts performing it live. I think it can be done really well in a number of ways, and I'm sure Adam will do his thing like he always does and keep surprising us with extra flourishes, glory notes, or even changing things up completely... (Does anybody still remember that reggae If I Had You from Australia? - I loved that! lol)
