But is it really top 40 or nothing? There is alt and other areas that Adam's music would fit. I wonder why no one ever tried to get him on some of the formats that don't play Ariana and Mendes 24/7. A format that is not so dependent on teen approval. He had pretty much outgrown them when he started. Tho there was/is always room for crossover appeal as many have successfully done.

Makes me sad thinking back to that god awful radio tour trying to promote the god awful BTIKM and then the even worse NCOE.... all that “organic” crap wearing earth tones and no make up... he “paid my (his) dues” for sure...

I had to Google the Sharon Osbourne article. from Celebrity Access. I had missed the kerfuffle. At least Adam wasn't mentioned. celebrityaccess.com/2019/07/11/interview-sharon-osbourne/UK promoter Harvey Goldsmith swears that Freddy Mercury was the best performer of them all, including David Bowie and Mick Jagger. Oh my God. Nobody could compete with Freddy. Nobody could compete with Freddy Mercury. First of all his vocal range was untouchable. Nobody had his vocal range. And he was just electric onstage. You couldn’t compete with Freddy. He played every instrument in the world. And that was it. Go on. What did you think of the “Bohemian Rhapsody” film in which Rami Malek, wearing a set of prosthetic teeth, plays Freddy? He received critical acclaim and won several awards, including the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and British Academy Film Award for best actor. The film has raked in more than $1 billion worldwide at the box office, and it received four Academy Awards. I did not like it. I cannot watch it. Listen I know that kid got the Oscar, but I can’t watch it. The thing intriguing about Queen onstage is that you couldn’t take your eyes off Freddy. Meanwhile, critics and fans have accused the “Bohemian Rhapsody” filmmakers of twisting facts to create a more convenient drama for the movie. But please don’t give me the shit in that movie about Brian (May) doing this, and Brian doing that. Brian did what Freddy told him to do, and that’s it. And you know what? It’s like finally these two (drummer Roger Taylor and bassist John Deacon) have got to their late 60s, and finally, finally, they have got the attention that they always wanted, but never got because of Freddy. As you say, you watched Queen you didn’t give a shit about anybody else. You were drawn to Freddy. And who did anyone want to write about? Nobody but Freddy. So there were these frustrated fuck musos that sat at home going, “We hate Freddy. We hate Freddy.” And that was it. What’s the best show you’ve ever been to not counting Ozzy’s shows? Every Queen show that I ever went to. And Elton. It has to be between Freddy Mercury and Elton John.

Seems to me that songs of all types do well on the charts. Yes, I think Adam deserves far more attention than he gets for his own music. I agree that it's a puzzle why his music hasn't been marketed on the other formats that suit him better. I can understand his frustration. He never really was a teen market performer. He was in his late twenties on Idol. And not mainstream. I hope there is a niche for him that keeps his name active in the media, music and otherwise. He sure has the cred by now, for lots of reasons. But bottom line, listeners have to connect with certain songs and be willing to support them. I hope Adam has some strong ones on the way.

I hope Adam fans stay out of it, although I'm sure there will be some who cannot resist jumping in with both feet. I wonder why Sharon has such a negative view of Brian and Roger? She's very Freddie-centric about all this. Freddie wasn't the only one onstage making that great music. Maybe she forgot. She sure is loyal to Freddie, that's for sure.

I agree girldrummer. But they are not going to connect with music they hardly get to hear. I know many think streaming alone will do the job for Adam. But I have yet to see an Adam song take off by streaming alone. I would LOVE to see that happen but I won't believe it until I see it, lol.
On the topic about Sharon, she is probably just pissed because Queen is now receiving so much attention and doing so well. Her guy is not. No one is really talking about him. Sour grapes and all. She can't really knock Freddie because he is not here so Brian and Roger are her targets. And no one cares if she does not watch BR the movie. They sold enough tickets to do fine without her. BTW, I would not pay to watch a movie about her and Ozzy, lol.

Brian and Freddie did argue but they cared about one another too. She's a miserable biatch to say those things. I know she likes Adam but really!!!!

Oh dear lord, that sounds bitter! I'm quite a bit surprised. I wouldn't give too much on the article, seems like she wants/needs the attention, i dare say tbh.
