I had forgotten about Queen mentoring on Idol the year Taylor Hicks won. Kinda funny watching this. Season 5 had quite a few really talented folks. I actually liked Kelly Pickler's Bo Rhap....lol, but No to Katherine McPhee's WWTLF. Wow, that was interesting to watch...no wonder they were so excited about Adam lol. I've never been an AI watcher, so I missed all that.

That was fun to watch...Surprised at how good Elliot Yamin was and at how weak Katherine McPhee was given how good she usually is. It is hard not to measure each of them by Adam's abilities. I agree that Chris Daughtry should have made a different choice...he is a very good vocalist and could have been a credible front man for them albeit not nearly as good as the one they chose!!

Re Javi..... He may be a wonderful young man. I am as open and prepared as any to see the good in him - but I’m afraid he’s not helping. I’ve seen nothing more than mindless, insensitive, self-promoting narcissism from him so far. I feel the same. And I strongly assume that it it okay to comment on something that is posted here on this site. J must have clearly enjoyed this past chapter as he used the word "amazing" three times. Who wouldn't want to attend the Oscars and tour with Queen? But who would use it to promote himself without even acknowledging the person he owes it to? In that case, I think it would have been more suitable to be classy and less attention grabbing and express gratitude in general. I understand that this is a sensitive subject and that not everybody feels the same way. However, from everything that I have been gathering I have to agree with SophieB that J is insensitive in the way he's promoting himself, to put it mildly.

INteresting AI episode. Emphasizes how difficult it is to sing Queen songs convincingly with power and control. IMHO, none were really up to it. But, the standard in my mind is pretty much unattainable by others.
I have to clear out my brain and ears after that. But, do I watch the amazing Idol run with Adam? Or a QAL concert to hear those songs done perfectly? I could be up all night.

As Paula told Adam, "You're in a league of your own." True in so many ways.
Of course there is the incredible tone and 3D quality of his voice. So much more depth, ring, harmonics than most other pop singers. And there is the totality of a performance, not just the voice, but the image, the confidence, the creativity.
I noticed little things, too. Or not so little. Adam finishes his phrases. He sustains them. He cuts them off when it suits the mood, not because he doesn't have the breath support or the styling ability.
Adam's voice remains strong throughout the entire song. Whether he is singing softly and gently, or belting out a raucous rock number. The stellar support is always there. No wobbles. No tentative approaches.
Adam's pitch is another constant. With his technical skills and his breath support, he very rarely misses the note. I don't hear "oops-es" that don't quite hit the target. The Idol contestants weren't singing off pitch, or consistently flat. But each had a couple of bobbled notes. Adam doesn't.
Overall, there is such consistency, control and reliability in Adam's performances. Gorgeous voice, yes. Artistry, yes. But also a sense of comfort, confidence and safety that he will nail the performance every time.

It has been so wonderful seeing all of Adam's recent solo concerts and tv events. He looked so grateful, handsome and full of joy. It was contagious. I smile a lot and feel happy whenever I view them again. El Rey had to be the best from what I could see but the Pittsburgh concert in front of 50k must have been such a thrill for him. I don't know if there will be any other events for him before QAL but Queen and Adam can't get here fast enough for me, lol. Adam is never boring and he keeps my attention. He is always exciting and he has such great accomplishments to show for his hard work. Bring on Velvet Side B. I hope 2020 will be a great year for him and for us. A new year, new chapter and new adventures. But I'm so ready for more Adam Lambert!

I've spent most of my break watching Adam vids. I'm ready for the next round!🥰

BEWARE major spoiler of Season 4 of Veronica Mars. I just finished binge-watching with my wife the first 3 seasons which I had totally missed during the 00s. I was planning to watch the new-ish 4th Season which was released in July of 2019... Dang! Not your fault, of course, but just a warning for anyone that might be interested in that show, but not enough to have already seen it.

I had to laugh when I read your initial response to Javis photo sizzling63. I was wondering if it was the pictures or the caption. I guess Javi can't really win in this game. Had he tagged Adam some might have accused him of name dropping and wanting attention, now people are iffy because he didn't tag Adam. I'll give you that, that Javi chose this rather weired middle way of "saying a little bit, but not all", he's kind of saying it but also not.
"Superficial" is the very nature of IG and lets be honest, we know Adam has a deep side too, he's not shallow. but Adam has a vain side as well (no hate to Adam). He likes his clothes and pays attention to his looks. My point is: We know Adams depth, eloquence and intelligence because we watch every interview available but how would one see that side if they just looked at his instagram. #impulsebuyer
