Re Javi..... He may be a wonderful young man. I am as open and prepared as any to see the good in him - but I’m afraid he’s not helping. I’ve seen nothing more than mindless, insensitive, self-promoting narcissism from him so far. SophieB. You pretty much sum it up from my perspective (for me, The Narcissism and insensitivity blend, as each feeds the other). But he’s three years younger than my oldest goddaughter and has lots of room to grow in all sorts of ways if he wants. Our society promotes Narcissism anyway. Regarding whether to mention Adam in Javi’s end of year memory/gratitude summary, who knows? Maybe he talked to Adam—if they still talk daily or often—and Adam asked him to exclude his name for whatever reason. Or maybe Javi thought that when he mentioned Queen, The Oscars, etc..., people would know he was with Adam. But then again, just a simple thank you to Adam wouldn’t seem out of place. i guess he and Adam had a mutually beneficial relationship, despite its somewhat short duration. Adam does seem to have a gift of staying friends with his execs which speaks multitudes about his big heart.

Many of us have been following Adam for 10 years. We are fans. We know of his talent, accomplishments and how hard he works. So no. We don't think he is just vain. He is an entertainer so pictures are part of the business and promotion. He is not just saying look at me. HA. He has earned the admiration from most of us because of his actions and achievements. And he gets to spend the money he earned on anything he wants without judgment. He seems to be maintaining a friendship (it is his friendship) but moving on. Maybe we can learn something from that. I respect his friends or ex's but I'm a fan of Adam's. I wish them all well but can't say they interest me enough to be a fan or need a constant update (I'm sure others feel differently) so I scroll often, lol.

As Paula told Adam, "You're in a league of your own." True in so many ways. Of course there is the incredible tone and 3D quality of his voice. So much more depth, ring, harmonics than most other pop singers. And there is the totality of a performance, not just the voice, but the image, the confidence, the creativity. I noticed little things, too. Or not so little. Adam finishes his phrases. He sustains them. He cuts them off when it suits the mood, not because he doesn't have the breath support or the styling ability. Adam's voice remains strong throughout the entire song. Whether he is singing softly and gently, or belting out a raucous rock number. The stellar support is always there. No wobbles. No tentative approaches. Adam's pitch is another constant. With his technical skills and his breath support, he very rarely misses the note. I don't hear "oops-es" that don't quite hit the target. The Idol contestants weren't singing off pitch, or consistently flat. But each had a couple of bobbled notes. Adam doesn't. Overall, there is such consistency, control and reliability in Adam's performances. Gorgeous voice, yes. Artistry, yes. But also a sense of comfort, confidence and safety that he will nail the performance every time. I remember that season and that episode. Not a candle or even a flicker of a candle on Adam’s ability and mastery. I even noticed it in his duet with Katie on the Voice - she’s a powerful singer but had several bum notes. We are so used to popular singers relying on technology to even things out its easy to forget what consistently excellent vocals are like.

I didn't know that Brian and Roger had been on AI earlier, pre-Adam. Huge reminder (as if one were needed) of how challenging the Queen catalogue really is...Adam makes it look so effortless, but it is anything but.

BEWARE major spoiler of Season 4 of Veronica Mars. I just finished binge-watching with my wife the first 3 seasons which I had totally missed during the 00s. I was planning to watch the new-ish 4th Season which was released in July of 2019... Dang! Not your fault, of course, but just a warning for anyone that might be interested in that show, but not enough to have already seen it. I'm so very sorry :-[

My DH and I had watched season 5 but apparently missed the Queen episode so we watched it together. We somewhat liked Kellie and Elliott, but thought Chris Daughtry was awful. Terrible vibrato. Couldn't understand why the judges were flailing. I am not sure why Adam gets criticism by Queen fans about having a goat vibrato and not being very rock, but Daughtry's and sometimes even Freddie's sound way more goat-like to me.
I think I am at a point where most singers don't sound good to me because of Adam. I watched several of this year's Kennedy Honor's performances on YouTube and I thought they were lackluster. Were there any moments like Believe that I might have missed? John Legend just doesn't do anything for me. None of the other singers impressed me either even though the comments on the videos were mostly flailing.
I also watched Frozen 2 and I thought the closing "Into the Unkown" was awful. Just sounded like repetitive shouting. I recalled that Brendon Urie was supposed to be singing it but wasn't sure and had to check it later. Asked my DH what he thought of the song and he thought it was awful for the same reasons and had no idea who sang it.
Anyway, I apologize to those who are fans of these guys, as I know they are much bigger in the music industry than Adam. But vocally, I think Adam blows all of them away.

Re Javi..... He may be a wonderful young man. I am as open and prepared as any to see the good in him - but I’m afraid he’s not helping. I’ve seen nothing more than mindless, insensitive, self-promoting narcissism from him so far. I feel the same. And I strongly assume that it it okay to comment on something that is posted here on this site. J must have clearly enjoyed this past chapter as he used the word "amazing" three times. Who wouldn't want to attend the Oscars and tour with Queen? But who would use it to promote himself without even acknowledging the person he owes it to? In that case, I think it would have been more suitable to be classy and less attention grabbing and express gratitude in general. I understand that this is a sensitive subject and that not everybody feels the same way. However, from everything that I have been gathering I have to agree with SophieB that J is insensitive in the way he's promoting himself, to put it mildly.
I share the sentiment. He's acting as if he did all those things on his own merit and pretends that all the people who started following him last year were there for him and because of him, assumes they're going to stick around and talks to them like to a fanbase. I always thought he acted as if HE were the rock star and it looks like the trend continues. Meh. Thank you, next.

However, from everything that I have been gathering I have to agree with SophieB that J is insensitive in the way he's promoting himself, to put it mildly. Apparently I don’t see, what you two are seeing. He‘s thanking his followers on Instagram and writing down, what he has been thankful for. Sure, one can wonder, why Adam is missing on that list. BUT Javi never mentioned Adam in his IG captions, but one single time, when they made the relationship official. I think it’s an agreement between them. Therefore this post is completely in line with everything he has been doing on IG for the past year. And if you didn’t notice: Javi almost never posts personal things. Look through his posts from the past year: it’s 99% selfies. No posts about family members, close friends. One about his boyfriend. That’s it. So to sum it up: Javi doesn’t give personal things away. He’s creating an image of a nice looking guy on IG. Nothing more. (And yes: He shows more in his IG stories, but they only exist for 24 hours. And no, there has barely ever been a glimpse or mention of Adam as well.) Some people call that being shallow. I‘m sure, others call it being protective. Of family and friends and his own personal life. So, now I‘be written a long post about a post, that I actually don‘t really care about.

I'm not sure what was so noteworthy about Javi's insta...basically a generic thanks for 2019. Was he supposed to get into intimate details about life with Adam Lambert? I don't get why people are always so hard on Adam's SO's...none of them ever seem to get it just right apparently. Javi is fine...Adam liked the post..all is well. Agreed, oh my gosh I wondered what the heck the issue was and then to read "he didn't mention...." What? I would have told him to never mention him, that's when peeps get slammed for just doing it for hits. And the "he should be grateful...." lordy. He was a boyfriend not a charity case. I just roll my eyes. And I read upstream "does he think all his followers followed just for him.....". Face palm. That's his followers problem for being shallow not his. But I thought Instagram had stopped showing likes so I'm surprised we are seeing anything at all.
