On board with the wtf group. How on EARTH would they know what the situation is two-and-a-half months from now!!!! I'm on the fence: i don't want to belittle the Corona Virus, but seriously, the regular flue demands it's victims each year and so does the MRSA.
No one cares if we die from an old, boring virus.
So true. Like this (yes, I‘m quoting from the QueenOnline board): „ 90000 people get a virus and people start wearing face masks. 30 million people have AIDS and people refuse to wear a condom. Says it all really.“

This is actually a very serious situation. This virus is a lot more infectious than SARS, and produces severe illness in 1 out of 5 cases, serious enough to be hospitalized. 3.4% of people diagnosed so far have died, with the highest fatality rates in the elderly and immunocompromised. This could spread like the flu. Per CDC estimates, this past flu season we’ve had a minimum of 32 million cases of flu in the US, and that’s with having a vaccine available. Apply those percentages to that number and that’s 6.4 million needing to be hospitalized and over one million deaths in the US for a season. Even if the true fatality rate is lower because of the cases that are mild and undiagnosed, say 1%, that’s still a mortality that’s 10 times higher than the flu. That’s of course IF it spreads like the flu. Which is why countries all over the world are trying old but tested methods like quarantine and shutting down large events that provide the highest opportunity for transmission, to prevent or slow this from spreading. There will be more cancellations in the future I’m afraid, as the situation is very volatile. Let me though clarify that I’m not happy about cancelled events, but I understand why they’re happening.

It does say they are going to reschedule. It’s the government that forbids the concert. THEY won’t reschedule. Hopefully the promoter/QAL will, but I‘m not sure. Such cancellations, that aren’t in the responsibility of the venue, promoter or artist, are usually not part of the insurance. Like when a war starts. You won‘t get your money back then either. So I hope for all the French fans that they will just reschedule, because it would look bad if the fans wouldn’t get a refund or a concert. But from my knowledge, none of it is by law guaranteed. I understand what you are saying. But that's what the statement says. It says current tickets will good on the new. Now I suppose it's possible they won't be able to come up with a new date but we'll see.

Nailed it.

The people that have been hospitalized in my country have all but 2 only a cold. I‘m sure that is going to change soon and some people are going to die. But seeing how fast and easily that virus is spreading, it will have reached almost everyone in Europe within the next 4-6 weeks. That’s why I don’t think that canceling an event in 2-3 months will make any sense. We will have survived it or not. Or get it anywhere else, because it is going to be everywhere (or nowhere) by May.

Paris and the shame for fans is it says until May 31 so QAL is a few days before that. Hopefully they will be able to come up with another date.

As of today, the death rate for Coronavirus is 3.4% - for seasonal flu, it is well under 1%. That is a large difference. Hopefully it changes for the better, but there is a reason for all the precaution. This is a new strain, which means it is unpredictable.

The rest of the schedule is completely full. So, if the venue (and the band) are free, it could be possible. Paris is more or less on the way from Madrid to London.

I wonder if the virus will affect any other concerts, or the tour as a whole? I don't really think it's paranoia...people are dying. Each country is deciding how they're handling their response. I wonder if those 10 UK shows are in jeopardy. Boris Johnson is considering banning large gatherings and school closures as part of his plan to contain the spread. I love in Oregon in one of the affected West Coast states. Washington has had 10 deaths and California 1 death with a cruise ship parked outside San Francisco Bay with many cases.
