Love the new Roadies episode! These are really fun and very informative. Just goes to show that it takes a full team of pros to put on a show of this size. The scuba thing was very funny! Adam was sexy as hell in that show, soaking wet and just nailing it every second. That "Get Down Make Love" was beyond sexy. I sure hope Adam wins a GLAAD award. He tends to not win awards, period. But Velvet is so outstanding and has gotten huge praise from many big sources, I hope this time is the charm. And I hope The Grammys wake up and give Velvet at least a nom. Velvet deserves one easily as much as any of the albums out there. Thanks for the FEVER clip! That is one great song! I hope Adam keeps it in his set-list forever! It's a highlight for me. So sad about Naya. The outcome does not look hopeful. Adam did a group song with her on Glee. GLAAD tends to give awards to the higher profile at the moment. Adam was up against GaGa and others early in his career and of course it went to GaGa. Then he was up against Frank Ocean and to my delight and surprise they were co-winners and Adam received an additional special award. For TOH he was up against Troye who looked as if he was going to break big but didn't and Troye won. Now Lil Nas put up huge numbers and with the whole BLM (don't know when the voting took place) he would seem hard to beat, imo. Would love to be surprised tho as Adam has been more supportive of GLAAD and his community than many others who win. And Velvet is fantastic. Speaking of the Grammy's, Brittany Howard, who is also up for the GLAAD award, just had 2 Grammy nominations. She is with an independent labels so I guess there is hope for Adam. But she was not in the pop category but up for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance. No way he will get a nom. in pop but I sure hope they try to enter him in another category because Velvet is so good and worthy of some attention. The last time I checked, Velvet had a Metacritic score of 83 from the reviewers, which is really good. I was so glad not to see a review from the Guardian (UK) cause they always score Adam so low that it brings his average scored down to the 70s. I think several times they have scored his albums as low as 40 or 50 when others put him in the 80s. But 70 is still a good score. Most of his albums scored higher than Carrie's but she still wins her Grammy's so that is the more important thing, lol. I would be totally thrilled if Adam got this award... but IMHO,Lil Nas has a super edge.. He was at number 1 for like months and months and months,he came out as gay during this time, which is great, because some in the African American Community aren't very into gay artists ,including their own artists.. So he made Glad and all supporters so proud of him, he helped the cause for sure.plus he's new.. Velvet is extraordinary and so innovative but there are just so many new & talented people in the industry and the competition is over the top.NOBODY can top Adam's voice, but IT's not only about the voice unfortunately.

Melliemom I agree about Lil Nas. I too think he would have the edge. He came out after his song was #1 but it was still very important and great that he did. It remains to be seen if that will continue and I hope it does. And many have not supported gay artists so it is not just the AA community. Even other gays have not always supported gay artists of any race. They still throw their major support to the divas, lol. There have been good strides made but I think they came a little too late for Adam to really benefit (but he helped to open doors for others), at least as far as radio play. If you don't get radio play in pop and go to the top of the charts, you are unlikely to win any awards. But he has great recognition and success so I think that will continue. And he has been a wonderful and outspoken advocate and role model for his community, award wins or not. But we can still hope that some will come for him.

I hope Adam gets the recognition he deserves in the form of awards.. They would go great in his house and do tons for his self esteem.. He led the pack in the last decade and continues to mentor young artists and to help The gay community in all ways..You're so right about lack of support from the gay community as a whole for gay artists..It's sad. HMM tearing up ,Why do I cry every time I think about him or listen to his music or hear him speak or just anything.. I just love the man so much.. . It will be interesting to see what he wants to do after Queen retire..BTW I love reading your posts.. You are so thoughtful and insightful

And speaking of loving Adam so much, it brings to mind an event early in Adam's career. There was a rap artist who was in some studio and Adam came in to do some work in another office. The guy only tweeted out that Adam Lambert was in the building. And he got an blitz of tweets from fans asking about Adam. He said gawd, I'm glad I didn't give away the location. He is like a mother fuc*ing messiah. Lol. That was glorious and some funny sh*t!

I guess I can survive just enjoying Adam throughout the coming years and loving everything about him, without him winning any awards. But I just hope that the next award he DOES win is not one of those "Lifetime Achievement Awards" that he will receive decades from now. LOL I want him to win some awards in between. LOL Just sayin'.

Messiah... that's great haha my DH used to remind me in the early years, while respecting my fan obsession, that Adam is not the "Messiah" and that he doesn't walk on water either. I have thought about this a lot and I think that in general there is a fine line between being a dedicated fan and becoming some sort of a cult follower where the leader can do no wrong. We see this all the time in pop culture but as we all know it doesn't stop there. As far as Adam is concerned, for me he is a vocal genius and he seems to be a lovely human being as well, but no doubt that he has flaws like everyone else on this earth. I think he is lucky to be where he is right now, and he knows it.
