skaschep, thank you for breaking it down for us in fan club matters. I very much appreciate it here on this site and on twitter as well.

Let me play a devil’s advocate for a moment, or may be its a legit argument: the very existence of fan sites aside from the official Adam site or his fan club represent a “lost opportunity” for “Adam” as a business. this site is an excellent example. Every click, post, view this site gets is something the Adam official site does not. you see where this is leading. Tbh, at the beginning, back in 2009 - 2011, I tried to be active on adamofficial, just to help generate some traffic there, but the site was not attractive for many reasons. And here we are, 11 years later still having a discussion if it is worth joining his “official fan club”. I wonder why.just look at the richness of collected data here, on Atop, or on the mmadamaiamadamm ‘s site ! Wouldn’t it have been better had we all been congregating on an official site? I am sure there are several more active places out there that idk about. all that “lost” user Info! Good points made, and for me this is not meant to diss Atop. I think we all know why people would rather congregate outside of "official" forums - it feels more like "safe space" and less "official", yet ironically we all want to be more connected with Adam. May be it's time to embrace this new fan club opportunity. I definitely will.

I too joined the renewed fan club the minute he announced it. I figured that's the least we can do to show appreciation for what he has given us and at the same time support what may lie ahead. I see the ridiculously low fee as an invitation for pretty much anybody to be able to join, and I can imagine that in return the fan club numbers could be one indicator for Adam to get an idea how many dedicated fans he actually has. I agree that we should support his FS foundation as much as we can. I can imagine that it's a lot for some between BLM donations and political campaigns, but even a little bit helps. The note under your Avatar reads: "Adam fan since Idol. I wish I would have kept a log of the countless concerts that I have attended." It's too bad you didn't, as I'm sure you would be shocked at the numbers. I know you have been to many of the concerts and events I have attended, and my log shows I have seen Adam 53 times, 17 of those with Queen. And I know there are many fans who have seen him many more times than I have! When anyone says I'm crazy to go to see the same performer that many times, I ask them how many times they have watched Monday Night football, or any other sport they enjoy ... I really regret the lack of a log or diary of sorts, and just recently I tried to recollect the many memories that comprise Idol, four albums, and Queen. I also included radio promo/concerts and extras besides the official concerts, and I was as much surprised how much I remembered as I was thankful for the opportunities that arose. I am pretty sure that I am a bit behind your stats though, especially for the solo concerts, as my "fangirling" started to really kick in at higher volume with Trespassing. I totally agree that we do not have to justify for attending all these events, except may be for the guilt that it has been a bit easier for fans like us who live in California. Then again, if I count all the Monday Night football that I never watched, I think I should have done more

I disagree with the poster that makes it sound like it's either Gelly or nothing at all. That isn't what anybody is saying. Nobody is saying Gelly shouldn't post or share. Shit stirring IMO.Exactly. We are just debating on how to share and post. Like you mentioned in your earlier post. We as fans sometimes undermine Adam and sometimes do things which doesn't benefit Adam in the long run. And I'm certainly not disregarding everything Gelly does for the fandom. She is however not the only one who posts news. Most of what she shares is also posted by the magazine or party that Adam did things with. I always try to find the original source and retweet and or quote tweet that. It's only in rare occasions that I can't find that. Posting videos in your own tweet or posting screen caps of a whole article makes fans lazy though and I'm pretty sure that for plenty of fans Gelly is their only source. Which gives her a responsibility as well. Over the years I've gathered almost 1,000 followers as well. I'm aware that people use me as a source of news and of course my numbers. So I try to do that in a way that I believe helps Adam the most. Not to get more followers or views on my posts. Agree with you both. It is pretty easy to see the people who actually care about Adam (even those who don't always get it right) from those who show little support or good wishes for him or his fans. I have a habit of clicking on whatever is there without thinking about it cutting down on the views from the original source. Will try to keep that in mind.

Seems to me that there is an interest from Adam's team in gauging interest in his membership website, as well as certain apps, such as that wishio app. Why not just enter contributors who have donated through the FS portal or bought the t-shirt for that lunch with Adam? But wishio has apparently promised to bring the winner to LA no matter from where, so there must be something beyond the surface for the partnership.
I was thinking of donating to the Foundation anyway, so I might as well do it through the app.
Gelly has been a great source of short-cut information in my twitter feed for things I don't need to search out myself. I do get tweets from Adam, though, so I should be less laid-back at the end of my work-day and go hit up the fansite.

I've renewed my membership - it was pretty easy. I'm sorry others are having problems - wish I could be of help. As for what is posted and where - be it 'fan site privileged information' or not . . . Adam is a public figure. His fansite is bait. I feel that EVERYTHING Adam posts is fan material. That includes photos, instagrams, texts, and certainly, 'exculsive' fan site information. I rarely speak to anything Adam might say or feel - because, even after 10+ years, I don't really know the man - but I'm sure, with his intelligence and forethought, he has learned how to keep PRIVATE what he wants to keep private. He knows how to keep EXCLUSIVE the things he wants to be truly exclusive. If something 'leaks' it's meant to leak; or, in the scheme of things, it doesn't really matter. Those who have searched the internet for Adam news have done this fansite a favor. We look for every tidbit of information about Adam. Gelly and others have been a lifeline during periods of just about nothing. Adam can take care of himself - we all know that. If there's something he doesn't want 'out there' I promise you, even today, we will know nothing about it. Has being a fan disposed us to wanting everything, but only in the 'right' way? We have so much to celebrate and support - including Adam's fansite and the FS Foundation. We can hope to win a lunch; or bid on a concert jacket; or even drive by his home in Hollywood . . . it's no secret. He's still somewhat an open book, and we are lucky to find a chapter that speaks to us. I have kept my membership renewed and find that the new site is much more attractive than past versions. I entered both contests and left comments. Easy peasy. And he will actually see them since there are not so many yet.

I think that 'Adam's People' need to pay attention to Gelly, and others who have created followers that represent Adam in a way no $10 fansite can. They need to look at the numbers and incorporate them; not ignore them! I don't know the inner workings of the kind of data analysis that may be going on, but I assume it's possible Adam's team is aware of the social media accounts of the more "prominent" fans and takes them into account in some fashion. However, even if they do, the accounts don't belong to Adam and therefore he can't get the kind of useful, in depth data from them that he can from his own accounts.

My YouTube was down on the cable since there was a big storm here today. I was having withdrawal so I was forced to watch some Adam videos on my tablet. I've gotten spoiled for the bigger screen! I went to the Little Caesars Arena tweet and voted- my home Arena where I saw QAL one year ago! JustKaren Love the football reference! I'm stealing that although I'm a sports fan. We used to go to a local watering hole that had a great buffet for Monday night football in my younger days!
