Been trying to listen to more music lately, but it's not really helping. Miss concerts so damn much. Sorry to hear all that. Here in BC, we really bent the curve -- but now that things have opened up, the cases are rising and especially in the 20-29 years set. Our health officer, Dr Bonnie Henry, is great. She doesn't want it to be a no fun summer, but has just told restaurants and bars only 6 people at a table with assigned seating -- no mingling with others, no standing at the bar, no dancing, etc. We don't have masks mandated here yet, but it may be coming. It is really sad to see what is happening in the USA. We are a tourist town and the best tourists are Americans! It is very quiet here without you all. Miss you guys too ! Used to live on the border, would often cross just to pick up cherries and spend the day. Sad times. Awww.....just found the kidlet and carpetbag smilies! She's definitely a lot bigger than from when you made these! Stealing my shoes :-)

Never had a problem with the fan site. Reflecting on 2019 and this hellish 2020 - 2019 was a great year for me and QAL/Adam. Went to MSG one night, two nights in LA, a wonderful week in NOLA for sightseeing and the concert, plus the added bonus of most of Queen staying in the same hotel as us (not Adam, though) then the concert with Global Citizens in NYC Central Park. Followed by Adam's solo concert at Foxwoods. And then - poof. I've been working remotely, in my basement, feeling like a mushroom, since March 19. (At least I'm working, but I miss social interaction.) I have a little pod of children and grandchildren (and husbands) that I see. Not even church - it's not worth the risk since I'm 65, even with attendance limited to 50. Looking at maybe having to cut my work hours back to help my daughter with schooling the grandkids in the very likely scenario that schools in NJ will not open. I hope for a better 2021, but there has to be some turn-around beyond the northeast of the US to get this handled. Including, finally, a national response. Who would have thought the Northeast states would be looking so good now. That only shows what a strong state government with a plan looks like. I live in Portland and we are in our 54th day of protests. It's gotten so bad the eastern part of the state wants to be part of Idaho. 2021 can't come soon enough. I too am sorry about the unsettling situation in Portland. It's been confusing for me to figure out what to make of it, but the presence of the National Guard is worrisome. I am sure you are more than willing to stay at home. I am crossing my fingers that we won't have the same escalations in Oakland. These are sad times for many of us, and still some are much better off than others. Which area do you live in, @hoppersskippersminers?

Used to live actually on Capitol Hill while in school, back in days when you could just wander into the Capitol building with your school books and plop yourself on a bench to study among the murals. Getting on the wrong side of the Capitol police then meant that they were annoyed at you for wearing Rollerblades inside the building (skates occasionally scuffed the floor, they'd make your take them off and then wander in your socks). Otherwise they were fine with us hanging out anywhere on the grounds. "Capitol is the People's Building" was the motto back in the day. 180 degrees from what it is now.......

I was just wondering where you are as you said that the Covid numbers were down and now rising again. From the perspective of a Californian, I see your frustration. How can I not? Is there a "Capitol Hill" in DC? I only know one in Seattle haha. Cool story how you used to roam the Capitol building ... Considering recent happenings, there are actually worse things to bring into it than rollerblades (btw. are you a co-moderator? Somehow I was unable to capitalize your name.)

😖😖. I've never had so much trouble in my life as I've had trying to get signed up to the fan club and ordering my shirt! I finally ordered a shirt so guess I'm in the fan club except I'm still not sure I'm in the right place. All I'm getting is old pics and fb comments! 😖 Then, I ended up on PayPal which I didn't intend to sign up for, and don't want! I'm really sorry I started this whole mess. And, Now I'm on PayPal and need to get off. This is the second time I've ended up there and DIDN'T want to be!! Oh well -- suzy, I am so glad you said this about the fan club. Now I know I'm not alone. I have been so embarrassed the past few days not being able to figure it out and having to ask people here and use the tech help. I have signed up for other things over the years with no trouble. BUT I think the fact that I was signed up for this site years ago really messed me up. I am finally able to get into it all now, but I am stuck with my own real name coming up when I post. I must have done that years ago and it's in the system for good. I can see no way to change it so I can have my own username. I really don't want to post comments with my real name, although I see other members there who are using their real names, too. Others have fan names. Drat. I wish I had realized it worked that way. I would have left my real name off at the beginning. And now I realize how dumb my last question was. The "keyword" space is obviously not the "username" space. There is no "username" option on the site, apparently. I just thought that had to be it. I will not be doing much posting, I guess. I was looking forward to it, TBH. Live and learn. Despite the trouble, I'm not sorry I persevered. It's done. And thanks, everybody, for your patience with my questions. Just glad I have Atop as a great home base. This virus is beyond everyone's wildest nightmares, I think. This year 2020 is historic for the most horrific reasons. Hi! I had the same problem with the username. I was finally able to change it from my real name to a username. Here is what you need to do: - Lock into your account. - Click on „Account“. - Click on your picture (or the grey space for the picture). - Now scroll down. You can edit your picture and/or your username (= Display name). I hope, that helps! It took me a while to figure out, how to change my username... but it finally worked!

nightowl! Thank you so much! I thought I was doomed to never post on the site. I NEVER would have thought to do what you just suggested. I will try it. They sure don't make things like this clear on the site. Thank you! Thank you!
