I have had my son's rescue dog for the past 4 years. Son only had him for about 5 months before concluding he could not take care of him. (Dog is very neurotic, hates thunder, fireworks, rain, and atmospheric changes.) Neurotic dog hangs out with my non-neurotic rescue dog, who mostly keeps him grounded. But when son comes over to visit - his former dog goes wild. The love is still there.

Ah, I was lucky to have gone to the Ste Agathe festival when he sang that as a preview to the album. We are in the northeast of the US, had a few vacation days, and could drive there, stay in a barebones motel (my hubby made friends with the truck driver in the unit next door), and afterwards we met Marie of Madame's Treasure Chest in Montreal. Memories of travels for the sake of Adam.

I know I am beating a dead horse, lol. But I sure hope this label will go for more than just pop for Adam this time. Miley had a #1 rock album in 2020. Demi had a #1 Rock album and 1 Alt album last month. They have come to realize they don't really fit with the rappers and younger pop acts and all things Harry Styles nowadays so they are finding new territory and more mature styles/sounds. Adam has done pop, pop-rock and rock his whole career but his labels never tried on these other charts. IDGI! Would these pop divas really be more believable than Adam Lambert, the Queen frontman? It doesn't have to be hard hard rock to qualify. But they are smart and have set themselves up to be considered in the rock and alt award categories that are not as out of reach as pop (which They did enjoy and excel for years). I agree. Other artists have had good luck with different labels and there's no reason why Adam can't, too. If this partnership pans out, he might FINALLY get a label that promotes and backs him with creativity and new ideas. Lord knows he has the talent and the cred. Adam seems to be very popular in the UK, with the Queen connection and all. And they get him on TV over there pretty often, with things like Starstruck and more. The US kind of keeps him on the back burner unless there is some special event or something. I hope Clash of the Cover Bands gains more attention and does well. Am I wrong? I thought Adam was shopping a label to put out his rock musical on which he is collaborating with others. That seems like a different genre than pop, or even anything close to what Demi or Miley did. I think there was a hint about another project as well. But it sounded like Adam would be bringing his direction to a label, and not a situation where a label was going to push him in another direction. I think Adam has enough financial independence derived from his Queen role to be able to follow his artistic direction. He's posted in the past about not paying attention to marketing algorithms in favor of developing his art.

I was raised Roman Catholic - my father was Polish and mother was Irish. But my catholic high school nuns were very liberal for the times in the early 1970s and probably woke me to the fact that the old priests were not right. After high school, I searched for a RC church which matched my hs experience. Couldn't find it. I migrated to the Episcopalian church in the liberal Northeast US. Many of the priests are in same-sex marriages. But even with that, my children went AWOL. Except now in the past two years my daughter brought her children back to church school, which she helps teach, and also participates in the community outreach to supply lunches on Sundays to the persons in need. It's okay to explore a church home that goes along with your values. You may find one, or not. I have two children with their own kids. They are not church-goers except maybe for Easter. It's okay. Their choice.
Sorry to read of your experiences.

The German windows youtube was interesting. I think those are the standards for Swedish windows as well. And then we got to learn about Swedish showers, and other domestic adjustments. (Our lovely trip to Sweden for QAL involved extended time with my ex-pat sister-in-law who moved to Sweden in 1979.)

I missed watching the tribute. I think Brian and Roger (and Rufus) performed Queen catalog songs, but it was not a Queen concert. I'm sure that Brian and Roger had the opportunity over the past several month to discuss with Adam whether he would participate - and that they agreed on the vocalists and Adam's absence for scheduling reasons. Also, Roger and Brian may not want to have been there as "Queen" or "Queen + "

I know it was an off the cuff performance. But I showed it to my sister-in-law who is a recording artist and certified music teacher in Sweden and she was impressed. The same person we brought to the QAL concert in Stockholm.
I have no technical knowledge on voice or opera. Adam delivered on this.

I can only think that Adam's team evaluated the tours limited to California/Las Vegas and to Florida-ish this year and geared the venue size accordingly. There are fans who are lucky enough to be able to travel (in old-speak, ladies who lunch) and there are fans who have to say no b/c of time off from work, airfare, hotel etc. There are fans who are committed to following Adam wherever he goes (met one at the Glamnation tour who was proud to have gone to every concert date and to spending her kids' inheritance.)
The dates in Las Vegas were fun last year, and I combined it with sightseeing in the desert to entertain the husband. Now he wants to be a Pink Jeep Tour driver, and move to the LV suburbs.

I saved and budgeted for near a year to go to QAL in Stockholm. I never would have done that, except it was tied to a visit to my husband's sister who lives in Sweden, and our niece. Needless to say, it's been a few years with Covid since we could see each other in person, and not on zoom. Plus, we brought the sister as our guest to her first Queen concert - well, it may also have been her first arena concert/rock concert.
So we had 9 days to visit with long-missed relatives.
But that obviously impacts whether I can afford to go to California/Vegas for Adam's solo shows. My heart says yes, but my brain says no. (But I would choose San Diego if I had to go solo. Love that city.)

I keep looking at San Diego for a quick trip, although I think it will be by myself.
My hubby is experiencing a lot of ambulation problems in part from a bad ankle fracture years ago. He just turned down going to a wine-tasting fundraiser for a local hospice. Apparently, I will have to re-evaluate all travel. We did go to Sweden in part for QAL and in part also to visit his sister. We mostly visited at her home, and when we went apart to sightsee, we didn't walk, but took the bus and ferry tours.
