I was interested to read that review because now that I am more awake, I had wanted to make an addendum to my earlier recap
I no longer think Pentatonix and Adam are a good match. Not that they need to be 'cause I am not thinking they will tour together. They are both amazing acts but the energy is so different (especially last night
). A lot of us are comfortable and happy with both but I don' think they feed each other. Could be wrong but the juxtaposition might be too dramatic. I like it but I can see from all around me that true blue PTX fans just don't know what to make of Adam and don't hang around to find out.
It was less blatant in St Louis but when Adam cuts loose (and that can be anytime, anyplace thank goodness!) it can shake very primal foundations.
What was not apparent in the videos was quite how charged the energy was around Adam. It was like we had five lovely domestic cats on stage and then this huge tiger appeared.
Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies.
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand, dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder, & what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? & what dread feet?
What the hammer? what the chain,
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp,
Dare its deadly terrors clasp!
When the stars threw down their spears
And water'd heaven with their tears:
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?
Tyger Tyger burning bright,
In the forests of the night:
What immortal hand or eye,
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
Our Adam. The Tyger and the Lamb
