Lorraine, thanks for the clarification. Good luck to the Dodgers tonight! And Q3, I know what it feels like when your team doesn't win - the Tigers being slammed in the World Series comes to mind. You should be very proud of your team!! As a lifelong Tiger fan, my mantra is "There's always next year".
And even though this comment is late, Adam in that green jumpsuit looked mighty fine!!

Q3, sorry about your Cleveland Indians. I was certainly rooting for them, because as a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan, I've never liked the Yankees - they went to the World Series just too many times, especially back in the 60's. Something like my feeling for The Ohio State (sorry here if you're a fan) and the University of Michigan because I'm a Michigan State Spartan after spending nearly nine years at Michigan State. Lorraine, Kirk Gibson was also a very special player for the Detroit Tigers. His home run in the 8th inning of Game 5 in the World Series in 1984, which won the game and the World Series for us, was also a tremendous moment! I also remember that special homer in 1988 - he certainly made history in his post season games. As far as the Cubbies vs the Dodgers this year - who knows who will make it to the World Series? Even though I'm an American League fan, I'll be rooting for the National League this year. To bring all this baseball talk back to Adam - he doesn't like sports and this all would be Greek to him too!! animaldoc--I'm impressed with your baseball knowledge--You really know the game, and yes, I knew about Gibson's history with your Tigers.I think that 1984 HR for them, factored into Lasorda calling him up in the 9th inning ,which resulted in that legendary home run for the Dodgers in 1988. All my brothers are Yankee fans and I can't even describe the battles we had growing up---but that's another whole story! Q3, I'm sorry about your Indians too. I have been complaining about the WILD CARD implementation for years---even though I know WHY it was done. I think, with 102 wins, the Indians should be in the World Series against my Dodgers who had 104 wins this year. They are the teams who should be competing for the title IMHO. Bring back the purity of the game!!!! But of course that will never happen... Sophie----I see you have yet another thing in common with Adam!! Hee Hee {although if I had a chance to catch up with him after the runway show last night, I bet even HE would have had some inkling about what happened over in Chavez Ravine. The noise decibel coming out of Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles last night reached the stratosphere!!!!!} Lorraine, I was making comments about ljsmack's post, and just saw yours after I posted my reply! I'm impressed with your baseball knowledge as well, and I didn't know about Lasorda calling Kirk in the 9th inning back in '84. Fortunately, I don't have family members who are Yankee fans, but the University of Michigan vs Michigan State rivalry makes up for it, as I have some Wolverine cousins as well as Spartan cousins, and one of my brother-in-laws is a Wolverine. I too agree about the WILD CARD thing - it definitely should have been the Dodgers vs the Indians in the World Series! They both had just incredible seasons. And Sophie and all others who aren't in the US or don't give a flip about baseball, we apologize (as they say, scrolling can be your friend). Q3 started all this by having a "post something good day" - when we do go off topic a bit, we often find out things about our fellow Adamtopians that we didn't know, which is a good thing. Shows that we are enthusiastic fans in many ways! Loved you comment about the noise decibel coming out of Dodger Stadium last night should have given Adam just an inkling of what had happened!

Animaldoc. I like you went to Michigan State and spent many family outings at Tiger stadium. My dad taught me how to keep a scorecard. I have an understanding of and played most sports due to his tutelage. (Croquet, horseshoes, tennis bowling, flag football, girls basketball when there were still roving guards and forwards, hockey, etc. Every time I watch sports on TV or attend a sporting event, he is a warm memory in my mindseye. Every time I threw somebody out from 3rd to first, he cheered. In those days pre-title 9, we had small towns playing each other for bragging rights. I have the At Bat app so I can listen to Tiger games wherever they play. I have become a Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins fan, but I'm forever a Detroit sports fan! I'm not going to try to relate this to Adam, except that I relish the fan-friends i e met due to him. I've been away from the computer most of today, and just saw your comments. Hopefully next year the Tigers (or Tigs, as my dad used to lovingly call them) can have a better season! Losing Verlander to Houston was a real blow. I believe I met you and Babs 12 at the 2nd QAL concert in Las Vegas back in 2014. It's so nice to know a fellow Spartan who also just happens to be a very avid Adam fan as well, and has deep roots in Michigan, even though we no longer live there. Yes, I also relish the fan-friends I have met in person and on this wonderful forum because of Adam! I loved your comments about you and your dad with sports - sounds like we were both so fortunate to have wonderful dads (mine also taught me how to keep a scorecard). I too have warm memories of my dad when I'm watching sports or attending a sporting event - he lives on.

Beautiful! I loved reading all those heartfelt sories. Thanks everyone for posting Hi Lorraine! Love your story so much. I must say that I share your passion for your favorite baseball team. I am a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and I love them as much as you love the Dodgers. I also watched the game last night and cheered for my team. And another one tonight! It doesn't hurt to have a couple avid fans, and especially family, in the room with you when you are cheering on your team. I know you'll be yelling GO DODGERS tonight and I'll be yelling GO CUBS! ) So we have avid baseball fans here as well as avid Adam fans! I am originally from the Detroit area, and am an avid Detroit Tigers fan, thanks to my Dad. As a lifelong Cubs fan can understand, it's not always easy being a Tigers fan, but during my lifetime the Tigers have had their moments of glory. My Dad used to take me to Tiger Stadium as a kid, as I was the youngest of three girls, and was the "son he never had" because I loved sports, etc. My loving Dad has been gone for many years, but I still relish my memories of our Tiger baseball games together. Often we would listen to the games together on the radio, and if there was a chance of the Tigers winning that night, we would head downtown (we lived in the northern suburbs) and get into the ballpark free after the middle of the 7th inning to watch the rest of the game. My Dad had a special parking lot near the stadium where they knew him well enough to find a place for him that late in the game. When I was working south of Detroit after graduation from vet school, we would often meet at the ballpark for a game, and the parking lot folks would have a place for both of us. After I moved out of state after graduate school, I was lucky enough to be with my Dad at the game when the Tigers clinched the American League pennant in 1984 - now that is really a special memory!! The only time I ever skipped a class in college was in 1968 when the Tigers were playing in the World Series. I was in the student bookstore on the floor with loads of other students, watching them win Game 7, and rejoicing with everyone. Aww, thanks Dad for all these precious baseball memories. I also think my wonderful Dad would understand my obsession for Adam, as he understood my obsession for the Beatles - special stories there too which I'll save for another "post something good" day.

I have some good news about my good buddy Uke. He has passed the 4 month marker which is the time frame the vet gave me for survival so he is beating the averages and is hopping along on 3 legs and playibg ball and chasing our cats(in a loving way) and licking everybody's face. So happy to hear your good news, Cookeejar!! Yes, your buddy Uke is beating the odds, and hopefully will continue to do so. Thank you so much, Q3, for this wonderful idea, and for all you do for Adamtopia. We need to hear about good things during these tumultuous times, and thanks to everyone who has shared "something good". It has been uplifting to read these posts in the midst of our sorrow. This forum is so much more than an Adam fan community; it is a community filled with such love and compassion, and I feel so lucky to be a part of it. Adam continues to bring hope, light, love and a sense of unity to this crazy world that we live in, and the Glamberts here are so special.

First, Momtomany, I am so very grateful that you and your family are safe. Your poetic and heart wrenching words made me cry. As others have said, we here at Atop are crying for you.
So..... Post Something Good Day
This is something good, and is also an Adam story. It took place during the Glam Nation tour at his concert in Albuquerque (I had already seen Adam for my first concert in Denver a few weeks before). I spend time in both the Albuquerque area and southwestern Colorado, so it was my "hometown" concert. It was a GA concert at a small theater downtown, and so I was in line early. It was a hot day, and I am very heat intolerant, so I brought an umbrella, lots of water, a small beach chair, food, etc, and fortunately I was sitting under an awning that gave me some shade. I thought I was pacing myself very well.
My DH showed up about 1/2 hour before the doors opened (so grateful he was with me this night!). This is an old theater, and has very poor air conditioning. We got a place about third row center, and were packed in like sardines. Allison was his warm-up act, and I thought I was doing OK. After she left the stage, the last thing I remember Alan saying was "Are you OK?" as I was starting to see stars, and then I promptly fainted. Fortunately Alan was able to catch me on my way down, and security pushed through the crowd immediately to get me. I woke up as this huge dude was carrying me (how scary was that?), and he plopped me down in a chair backstage. Immediately I had people putting very cold bottles of water on my chest. I said as I came to my senses "I've been in line for almost 12 hours and I've lost my place!!". Security said not to worry, and right before Adam was to hit the stage they guided the two of us into the theater and put us in the front row on the right side. The funniest thing happened when two teenagers behind us asked "Are you his parents?!" - they thought we had to be VIP's to be brought in at the last minute like that! Security kept checking on me throughout Adam's time on stage, and fortunately I was OK in this new location, which was much less crowded. After the concert security came up to us and said that we could exit through the door at the front, instead of the back doors, which were the normal way out. They said we could go that way only if we went straight and didn't turn left (where Adam was, I'm sure). Boy, that was hard to do!! These security people were my angels that night, and I am forever grateful for them.
Yes, angels do appear in your life sometimes, and I hope that some angels can help our dear Momtomany through this horrendous time.

Momtomany, my heart is aching as I write this. I know the terror of fleeing from your home as fire is bearing down on you, but my home was saved during my forest fire in Colorado five years ago, and I can only imagine the tremendous feeling of loss that you are bearing. Words are inadequate at such a horrible time, but know that I and so many others here at Atop share in your grief. I have never had the privilege of meeting you, but feel like I know you through your wonderful and insightful posts. Your poetic words so often express what I am unable to say in such an eloquent way, and I treasure them so. Sending love and many, many prayers your way.

Thanks Adamrocks....Can't imagine what it must be like to have to leave a forever home immediately and not know....so sorry for Mom and hoping for the best outcome for everyone. I was given 10 minutes to evacuate from my southwestern Colorado home five years ago due to a horrendous forest fire, and wasn't allowed to return for 10 agonizing days. I know what it feels like to leave your forever home and not know what will happen to a house that was built with your heart and soul, and holds so many precious memories. Fortunately, my home was saved, as well as my neighbors' homes, due to the outstanding and courageous efforts of the firefighters. My heart goes out to Mom and to everyone who is being impacted by these horrible fires, and I pray that homes and lives can be spared.
