Soaked was a real show-stopper. The audience just waited in anticipation for those stellar notes and those gripping pauses. It was magnificent.
Quite honestly, I am ready for Adam to come back home and get busy here again. I want to know what things he hinted at weeks ago that he will be doing. Australia has been great, but I'm ready to move on.
Just heard that Taylor Swift actually released two new albums at the same time. She is riding on the pinnacle of her career. She can suck all the oxygen out of the music universe in a nano-second.
The music business is so crowded with singers of all kinds. Genres, genders, ages, agendas, talents (or lack of) and on and on. No use to debate about who is "better." It's all subjective. You just love who you love and follow who you follow.

Fun surprises this morning! Like that little clip with David A and Paula. How long ago was that, I wonder?
And Marry The Night was a highlight of Adam on Glee. A highlight of MANY, I should say!
It was too late for me to respond to lat night's comments about favorite Adam Idol songs. I love to go back to "If I Can't Have You" and "Beth." I esp. love IICHY. Paul almost fainted after he sang it. And Simon even managed to gush a bit after that song. And "Beth" was a sweet surprise snippet just before Adam turned around and sang with KISS. Ahhh, those were the days.
Season 8 turned Idol on its head.

Just listened to the song. I really like it and I like Teddy's voice, too. Bluesy and raspy. Interesting that he and this song caught the attention of the label and became a hit. Adam's albums have been loaded with great hit-worthy songs, too, just waiting to break free and get heard.

lurleene, thanks for telling us about Teddy Swims. I don't watch Idol, but I know it shows viewers who some of the current successful singers are. I'm going to listen to his song.
I know we go on and on here about Adam's lack of radio play and jumping genres, etc. etc. But the bottom line is, the listeners out there either like a song or they don't. I know that label support is involved, and obviously Teddy got that support. A successful singer doesn't have to be gorgeous or even have a good voice. Plenty of top singers have neither. In a more logical world, Adam's solo albums would be strong enough to support a decent sized solo tour every year or so. Somehow, despite his voice and looks and personality and good songs, the labels he has had just let him slip by over and over again. The head-scratcher of the 21st century.

Wow. That Believe reaction was like a college music class. Loved it. It's amazing how deeply a singer'ss vocal technique makes a song great. And Adam has all those skills. Sometimes a song isn't just "a song."

Love the reaction from these guys. Always fun to hear from first-timers. I wonder how impressed they'd be to know that the guitarist, Monte Pitman, was Madonna's guitar teacher, and that Adam got to meet her through Monte.
I was luck to see a GNT show. It was outdoors in Rockford, IL. It was a gorgeous night and the show was great. The line for the meet and greet was miles long. I didn't do a M&G, but I watched from afar as fan after fan went up and met Adam and walked away in a swoon.

That Fred Bronson interview is amazing! I learned a lot about Adam's early years, even though I thought I knew just about everything. It's long, but it's worth the time to read.

Adam has definitely done his share of judging/mentoring/coaching over the years, even on Idol. It is ironic that he has never gotten a permanent judging spot on Idol, but the likely reasons are those that lurleene pointed out. Quite honestly, I never watch Idol and don't intend to. If Adam was a judge, of course I would watch, but I just don't have the interest or energy to get involved in supporting a contestant. So, if he never gets that job on Idol, that's ok with me. Same with The Voice in the US. Mentoring and coaching is fine, but those are short-term things. I love how much the Brits and Aussies love him.
BTW, he is looking particularly gorgeous.

I remember this performance with Cynthia Erivo. It is the first time I ever heard her. This was great as all of Adam’s duets are. I think it may have been during COVID. Must have been during COVID. They look like they are alone in their own homes. Those were the days.

Wow! Why do I not remember this performance with Cynthia Erivo? I don't remember the Carousel of Hope at all. I must have been out of town or something. LOL It is a stunning performance, as all performances are when they include Adam.
