I’m going to LoveLoud Fest this year (Mike Shinoda is on the bill and always wanted to see Imagine Dragons in concert) so excited! Adam should be back overseas by then so hoping maybe he’ll attend as well 😜

Plenty of established artists do covers. Panic! At The Disco covered Bohemian Rhapsody regularly on tour. Disturbed had their Sound of Silence cover hit huge on the charts. Halestorm has released several cover albums. Linkin Park did a stunning cover of Adele’s Rolling In The Deep a few years back. I’m sure in a lot of these cases the covers still helped them find new fans even as established artists. Absolutely no need for it to be considered a “new and upcoming artist” thing. Coming in way late, but since you brought it up...the LP cover of Rolling In Deep is one of the most stunning versions I have ever heard. I know right? www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHtwZ07N1ic

Well Tradationally up and coming new artists do cover songs on YT. Looking to establish an audience. I don't think Adam has that worry haha. And I am gathering hes not keen about anymore covers. So a Adam song in the Queen set? If it is not a new Adam song. That could b a good way to promote his new music. IF not. Than I would love Sleepwalker or Runnin. Imagine those songs with Queen. Just me thinking aloud because I love Adam doing covers, they invariably end up better than the originals most of the time. I was only thinking an odd one every now and then. With music changing and going more to streaming it would be a way to get new fans interested who would then maybe listen to new music he puts out. Established artists do it occasionally, 30 Seconds To Mars did a live cover of Stay, they even did it on tv shows and it's really good though totally different to the way Adam did it. @nonotome thank you SO much for that article! VERY interesting!!! I love the scientific approach and not just this "everything used to be better" I hope that as mentioned in the article, that through streaming and it becoming easier and easier to produce yourself music will diversify. Charlie Puth produced his new album totally by himself, he only had someone to help him with the lyrics a bit. Charlie also said that he recorded some of his music/vocals with his phone. He likes the microphone of it and he mixes his album in his car. This falls in line what Shawn Mendes said to a fan at a Q&A, when asked advice for upcoming artists, Shawn said to the guy: Don't think it's so far away. Alot of the stuff today is done at home. Don't always think it just happens in fancy studios. Justin Biebers "Journals" is a two-man show...some say it's his best work... Can't wait to find out, what song QAL have up their sleeve for us this time around I wonder how long it will take Adam to take this road in producing and recording his own music? It's a real money saver. I know it's more complicated than it may seem. Being with a major label is generally the best thing but times are really changing. Gotta adapt. Linkin Park for years have been recording the majority of their music from Mike Shinoda's home studio setup that basically runs off a laptop. Seems to be the way to go for a lot of artists. And being able to record whenever the inspiration hits and not have to wait for studio time to open up has to be a big plus. Would be interesting to see Adam start to learn, though from the various behind the scene videos I've seen over the years of the at home recording process is definitely looks more complicated than it sounds. ETA: here's a video of Mike doing a demo of some simple Dell recording software for those curious about the at home recording process. This is from 2012 so I'm sure technology has improved a lot since then. youtu.be/IXzD5iliyfs

Thanks for the vid with Bebe in it. She's ok. Very average voice. I often wonder how some singers get kind of popular when they don't sing all that well. But then, as Adam said, "It's not about the voice." She's pretty underwhelming, but apparently lots of people like her. Good for them and for her. Nick makes sense because he's promoting a new song. It's certainly an odd mix of finale performers. Bebe's big hit came with the collaboration of Florida Georgia Line. Both of those guys are over 30 but they are one of the biggest acts in country music with crossover appeal because of earlier collaborations with rap artists. They play arenas. I doubt that country/pop song would have blown up for Bebe on top 40 and country without them. But it probably sets her up to do well on her own. FGL have won a lot of awards. They were honored that same night on CMT when Adam and Leona sang Girl Crush for Little Big Town. She actually started off writing for other artists before breaking out as a recording artist herself. One song she wrote won a Grammy in 2015. “The Monster” by Eminem and Rihanna.

Well, I don't know who Bebe Rexha is, even if she's everywhere. On this list, I know the three judges, and Nick (but not Mustard) and Patti LaBelle and Kermit. The others I don't know. But they must be really famous or they wouldn't be there. It's a pretty strange mix, IMO. (Was Carrie the only AI alum to be this season?) I'd love to see Adam, but if he's not on, I will not be devastated. I am not a country music fan AT ALL, but I predict one of the country singers will likely win. For all of you who watch the show, enjoy! I am not watching Idol this season but I hope there is more planned than this. Bebe Rexha is the hot country female singer right now. Probably really popular with the Idol audience. Darius Rucker is really famous -- he used to be in Hootie & the Blowfish. He is now a major country artist. Gary Clark Junior is great but certainly not a star or really current -- except in the blues world. I am a big fan. Perhaps there is a bluesy Idol? Nick Jonas and DJ Mustard are there to promote there new single. It is EDM so not sure it will be a duet. www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop/8455436/nick-jonas-teases-anywhere-dj-mustard-instagramYolanda Adams is a gospel singer -- and way more stuff -- she might be the biggest star in gospel. So I guess there is a gospel Idol? Very heavy on the country and blues-gospel artists. Where are the Pop singers? All they have is Katy Perry. Bebe Rexha isn’t a country singer she just happened to collaborate with a country artist. She’s more pop/dance/hip hop than anything else. Saw her perform with Steve Aoki at Linkin Park’s Celebrate Life tribute show last year. youtu.be/vWnCjvPFRqY

Well I guess have fun if you can afford to go to the Vegas shows. At that price range I would rather wait and pay the same to see multiple solo Adam shows. At least this year's AI tour is actually coming to western South Dakota (live in the touring black hole so next to no tours do) so I can go see Kris Allen perform again. He puts on a fun show. Couldn't care less about this year's AI contestants though lol I find it interesting that Kris is going on tour with Idol. Wonder if they will add some more Idol originals. Definitely an interesting twist. Smart way to bring more of a crowd into the shows. I know a few people that aren't even watching this season but might still go to the tour just for Kris.
