This is ridiculously OT, but I'm putting it here in case anyone has ever experienced this. If you have and have any info or suggestions, please pm me. Yesterday and today I got an email sent from my Mom's email address telling me to click on a link to get rich quick. My Mom would never send me crap like that, so I didn't open it (just read it without opening). I deleted it and sent her an email with what the fake one said. I did not forward the fake one, but sent my own with the info in the fake one. She replied to my email, but I never got it. She has since sent me other emails which I have received. It seems like someone got into my email contacts and somehow was able to use my Mom's real email address to send me spam. I googled "someone stole my email address" and read that this is a way that people send viruses. It also said to change my email account password which I did immediately. I told my Mom to do the same. Thanks for any info anyone has. Hi sugaree, I don't know if someone has answered this for you yet; I'm still on p. 11. YES, it recently happened to me and a few other Yahoo! users I know. Someone with an email address that is in your Address Book will send you obvious spam (I think I got about four in one day; I didn't open them). A day later Aloha told me she got spam from my email address and a couple of other people did too. All of them were in my Address Book. Everyone just said, "Change your password," but I wanted to make sure from Yahoo! (which took awhile); after being passed to four different people, the end conclusion was: "Change your password." I did and it hasn't happened since. Good luck. There is a chance it's going to happen to you now, so I'd advise both of you to change your pw.
