My ITunes genre list is diverse to say the least. The main entries are Rock, Pop, Metal and Alternative but, there is also, R&B, R&B/Soul, Hip Hop/Rap, Musical, Soundtrack, Jazz, Folk, Blues, Country, Latin and Easy Listening.
FYE is definately NOT my favourite album of all time. Adam's voice, on the otherhand, is!

Listening to the remix from Q102. The voice is so up front and present. It feels almost intimate. If he does that with the next album I may never play anyone else's recordings ever again.
Some time back we were discussing people who "see" music as colors and shapes. (synesthesia) At the time, we wondered what Adam's voice would look like. Angela Kalahari, the opera singer, sees this. What does she have to say about Adam's voice? "Needless to say, the colours and shapes of Adam's sound is utter and complete perfection!!!
For me, Adam’s voice has no harsh or clashing or discordant colours or spiky, sharp, ugly, or scary shapes, even when he accesses more ‘gritty’ sounds for a particular effect."
I don't SEE music, but at some level, I think I feel the same perfection and comfort that she speaks of visually. Maybe it is something in the harmonics and subharmonics of his voice, maybe they reach into my brain and release endorphins or something. Don't know. Don't care. Just wanna keep listening to that voice.

Oh good thinking!! I keep all my texts anyway, but just in case. I'm glad I took a pic of it. Thank you, pjd! I never knew how to do that until you said so. I am a fan for life for Adam because of the voice, as you all know. I was driving home with the tour CD blaring in my car and thought, "Who would ever have thought I would be listening to this type of music? Definitely not my thing. Have no interest in playing Gaga, Ke$ha, Bruno, etc, etc. But, as long as I can hear Adam's vocals, I am a happy girl." On those rare occasions that I listen to non-Adam music, the tunes are jazz, Celtic, or classical. Musically, I like them all better than the tunes on FYE. There's not a single tune from top 40 on my iPod except for Adam. But, truth is, I would listen to Adam singing nursery rhymes, I swear. Something in that voice melts me, soothes me, feels heavenly, and puts a smile on my face. I have seen that this board has people with vastly different musical preferences, yet we are all drawn here for the love of Adam. As long as he remains the main focus, I am fine with accepting that Adam may be the only thing we all agree on. ;D ;D When I listen to Adam now, especially GNL and acoustic, I love the voice, but it also mixes in with really loving Adam the person. The voice makes me feeeeeel goooooood, like Cassie says, and at the same time, the voice reminds me of the memories of my concert experiences, of Adam being gracious, funny, wise, articulate and adorkable, of interviews I have come to love, and of all of you here as well. I can't separate any of these things anymore, and that is why I feel so good spending and sending my money Adam's way. He deserves it, and we deserve him.  |

With that name, I guess it's a tomcat, so he ain't singing about pussy. I didn't check when I watched. Back to watch again. Back to the point, Charity Water and getting it to $300k. Sparta!!!!! |

CONGRATULATIONS, ADAM!!!
I just finished the thread and am in tears. What a day of rejoicing all around the world for a man who has worked his butt off for years, been rejected, never backed down, pursued that dream and the energy is palpable here today. I don't have my DVD until tomorrow, but thanks to all of you, I feel as if I have experienced it already. I watched the charity:water video for the umpteenth time because it thrills me to see others benefit from Adam's generosity of spirit and to know that we are a global community after all. He has united us in so many ways. Doesn't it make you all goosebumpy to know you have made a difference in a world that can be so cold and impersonal??? To close tonite.. HELL, YES, WE ARE THE BEST FANS!!!!!!!!  We are making a difference. The change is here/now!!! Adam, thank you!

This guy showed up at about 4pm this afternoon. Thanks tinafea.  I unwrapped my DVD and it's spare and perused the contents. DH is on vacation for the next two weeks and no way in hell was I going to wait for him to be gone. So WTH. DH is hogging the big screen in the den, so I get the flat screen in the BR. The DVD exceeds my expectations. The sound is wonderful. I love getting to see everything not Adam that I missed during the concerts. DH and I swithched TVs at Soaked. I wanted to hear it on the surruond sound. Bliss. The entire GNT experience was so surreal. Having the DVD grounds the experience and makes it more real. Yes, I saw that and it really was that good. Today has been an awesome day. GNT and Aftermath Remix on Q102. Adam tweeted and thanked his fans was the cherry on top. Awesome. |
