This is killing me. Can’t stop reading and watching. Starting the day crying (with a huge smile on my face). Hope my eyes are back to normal by the time hubby gets home. I gotta pack for a mini vaca to Long Beach CA this weekend and get ready for dinner guests tonight. Must get off computer now! They better do a few dates in the US! I’ll be there!
Woke up in the middle of the night wondering if there is a Grammy (or other award) category for Best Collaboration for a Live Performance type thing. Queenbert should be a shoe in.
side question: does anyone know how to qualify for handicap seating at a concert since I am now unfortunately in that category. On the positive side, it might be a good seat and easier to get?????
Anyway, thanks everyone for the great tweets, reviews, photos and vids. I’ll rush through my chores and be back later. What time EST does tonight’s concert start? Wish there was some kind of strap where you could walk around with your computer hanging around your neck (kind of like those “cigars, cigarettes girls” of long ago........

Thanks valilac... I watched this performance yesterday of course, but in a frenzy to view so many, and thought how into the song Adam was when he turns away and walks back to the bandstand: but re watching this one, at 1:36 he abrubtly breaks off the note and seems to need to collect himself to continue...poignant moment. :2tears: |

LOL at the one comment so far: Grabbing popcorn, waiting for the glamberts to get here and complain this review isn't good enough.  Hmmm, doesn't he know they have always left the stage for the middle part of BoRap! This has to go down as one of the strangest gigs I have ever seen. At one point, during Bohemian Rhapsody, the whole band leave the stage for a pre-recorded operatic section by their younger selves, returning to perform the finale with Lambert duetting with video footage of the late Freddie Mercury. This was effectively Queen paying tribute to themselves, with a young, gay American pop singer standing in for their legendary frontmanOh, and this is the guy that did the mincing tweet last night. Not that other review that was cited earlier in the thread. Interesting that he brings up "gay" again! :-/ Yes, it seems a bit odd that he speaks of it not being "Queen" yet doesn't know this is how they have always done it. Perhaps someone should tweet him this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3p4MZJsexEs&feature=relatedThis kind of review should not bring out the glamberts, but the Queen fans. I am shocked that Roger Taylor and Brian May are also on the receiving end of ageism here and in that other review--I thought it was reserved mostly for women (I'm tired of reading about how Madonna's too old to be touring and putting on a show--I guess when thousands of people stop buying tickets to see her in concert, then she'll know it's time to hang it up!). Anyway, this guy comes off as condescending and ignorant to boot. So, whatever! : |

Yes, I agree joky, it was sad to see a couple of reviewers being all like "what are these old folks doing touring?" That's so annoying. Why not, if they still have it? And they obviously do... Should people just stop their lives and drop dead once they're 60? Gah... My parents in law are 60-ish and they have among the most vibrant lives I know - definitely cooler than A LOT of the 20-30 year olds I know.

Just a further the admin from QOL posted today that they film EVERYTHING they do nowadays. Every gig, etc. is filmed. As of this time there are NO plans to release any Q+AL gigs. They do it in a better to have it and not use it than want to release something and not have it. Sorry guys. The reality is, that it is released for free and with zero editing every time anyone perform now. If I walk through suz526' videos it is almost like having a DVD in my hands, at least it is the next best thing. While my suspicion is that you are right and we will not receive a live concert DVD as generously as we did with GNT, it is kind of surprising why artists given today's reality of the internet choose to not release an official version. I am drowning in videos as is, one better than the next. But I would love to get a perfect sound stream without fan singing, basically straight from his mic. Assuming it was on at all times. Sometimes the sound was really low, at least in the secondary sound recordings that we are getting it seems that way. |
