Oh and for any reviews that are negative towards Brian and Roger? Don't let it bother you - it certainly doesn't bother them - they basically hate the press  And at this stage of their career they won't lose one wink of sleep over it  They're used to it! But I wanted to point out what McCormickwhatever said about it being a Queen show but not Queen. It may sound insulting...but I actually think the same thing. And I know I don't mean it negatively. The truth is Queen is Freddie, Brian, Roger, and John working their magic. This now is not Queen. It is two members of Queen with some great backing musicians and a singer with a great voice...but it is more of a Queen tribute...just so happens to have 2 of the best and most qualified candidates filling guitar/drums It is a Queen Show, not Queen...but that's ok because it still is a good time, and a respectful playing of the catalogue! obviously a matter of definition of "Queen". and obviously the definition is different for the hard core original Queen fans and for the surviving/founding members. nothing to argue about IMO and the main thing - it doesn't matter what they are called, does it? the joy of performing, mutual love and admiration, and everyone's mastery on that stage were exhilarating and infectious. The energy exchange among ALL in that space- stage and audience and I am sure behind the stage was so dense that even through the YTs you can almost touch it... What else is needed from a show? |
