Review: Queen & Adam Lambert – Hammersmith Apollo, London – 11th July 2012. When Adam Lambert performed with Brian May and Roger Taylor at the MTV EMAs a few months back, there was something special about their performance…something a little Freddie about the vibe that was going on and it was echoed around the world that Adam should perform with Queen properly; and now here we are in the band’s hometown with the American Idol runner up in tow to do Freddie proud. Say what you will about Adam Lambert, but credit where credit’s due, he did a phenomenal job on the first of three sold out nights at the Hammersmith Apollo. ‘Who Wants To Live Forever’ was breathtaking to say the least; Adam did a fantastic job at nailing those vocals to make this one of the highlights of the evening.
A particularly nice touch to the evening involved a special thank you directed to Adam Lambert from Brian and Roger for “making this night happen”; it was a night full of admiration for each other and that was a touching thing to see.indulge-sound.com/2012/07/12/review-queen-adam-lambert-hammersmith-apollo-london-11th-july-2012/

No, you're right. Idol fans pretty much can't stand Randy and would him to be the first judge gone. It is long overdue! Now that we know Steven is leaving, he'll probably stay, right? They wouldn't replace all three judges at once, would they? I think they might. The ratings have been going down over the past couple of years (although the show is still doing very well) and they may just want to make a clean sweep. There have been a lot of complaints about the Tyler/Lopez/Jackson judging panel (a good percentage of them mine). Many critics have charged that the show is on its last legs. I can see the producers deciding to attempt a revitalization of the show by bringing in a whole new set of judges.

Just returned from tonight's concert. Evidently we still don't know what this man is capable of. He completely stopped the show after "Show Must Go On". I was standing on the floor among die-hard Queen fans. No.One.Breathed.Start saving your money. They have to bring this concert to the States. Otherwise it would be a crime against humanity. OMG THANK YOU, ZELDON!!!!

Thanks for that feedback. From the shaky stream, it seemed that Adam Fucking Lambert came out to play tonight. Still deferential to Brian and Roger, but I suspect they encouraged him to step out and be himself a little more. Oooooh, and a Shakespeare reference! I love it. (Did you know that Adam played "Bottom" (a character, folks, a character, not a position) in a high school production of the play?) I was fascinated by the small, but distinct and deliberate choices he made tonight. Thanks much for the kind words, Cassie
