*Attention Kiev DVD requestors*: popping into Friday's thread because I didn't want to interrupt the flailing yesterday.
The first batch of DVDs are being shipped today - 18 in all. I PM'd the recipients but will also list them here: houselady, nica575, cheriemelissa, Sagittarius, Cassie, tamalepie, durberville, glittergma, theosgma, feelalive, adamme, Jazzrocks, joky, hbstalker, prism, Kayko, mehitabel, and pi.
The next in line is Holly. And poor Holly, I have made 6 DVDs for her so far, and all have gone into the trash. Which brings me to why I directed people here.
I am having one hell of a time with the DVDs. Don't know why, could be a bad batch of blank DVRs (of which I bought 100) or could be my ISO burner program.
I am hoping it is not the DVRs. I don't normally buy Philips but they were recommended so that is what I bought and I would rather not have to toss them all.
I downloaded a different ISO burner program last night and just burnt a DVD using that one. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet.
First let me say that other than the first one or two DVDs that I burnt, I have not watched any of these DVDs full through. I don't have two hours a day to spend in front of a TV. If I were to watch them all full through, it would take me the year to get them all out to you. So what I do is pop the DVD into my player and if it starts I will skip around, fast forwarding, watch a bit, fast forward, watch a bit. You get the picture.
I have yet to have a DVD that did not play. What I am finding is that there will be a freeze, the screen stops, a few seconds pass, and it starts back up again. If I find that, in the trash it goes. But with my watching only bits, there is a large possibility that there are freezes I didn't see.
Soooo, if you get a DVD that is just unwatchable, freezing all the time, let me know. I will try to make you another one IF I still have the supplies to do so. Since I'm not charging anyone for any of this, I hope you understand that I am making 59 DVDs (or attempting to) and this is the best I can do.
Also, when you pop the DVD in, there will be a Queen Kiev menu. It will say Play/Resume and Select Title. If your DVD player is like mine, hit enter if selecting Play/Resume and hit enter and then enter again if selecting Select Title. Hitting play does not start the video so don't panic if you hit play and you get an error message. Hit enter instead.
Thanks everyone for your patience as I get through these DVDs. The next batch will most likely go out next Friday. If I stop having the issues I am having, I would expect at least these people to be in the next batch of recipients: Holly, VoiceFan53, juigiy, cookeejar, adamrocks, 4EverAdam, maitospf, vir1877, librlam7pf, maria222pf, hoopla1, sherriellen, scorpio, taumbu, wal, momtomany, justsouthofnowhere, and crazyoldgal.
