Looking at the crowd pics brings back something that Roger said during the interview where he, Brian and Adam sat with the translator, "We just had our dress rehearsal in front of hundreds or thousands of people." Adam like gulped and then smiled. It was almost as if he hadn't heard the number said out-loud. Kiev will always be one of the best for me because it was the first, the stream was unexpected and GREAT, I keep hearing about "issues" but honestly I was so honed in on the experience that I STILL don't hear them. The whole moment was just too much to even wish for.... Not to be negative but listen again to the first verse of Show Must Go On....OUCH. And the band screwed up a few times too - I Want It All where Rog came in too early, and Fat Bottomed Girls when Adam came in too early.... Nothing concert ruining (though TSMGO came close ) but there were definitely hiccups. Much better by London though... Well I have perfect pitch and nothing about that offended my ears, though I admit I'm not next to a piano. Are you saying he was flat? I barely heard that if at all. That's :45 of 4:25. Like I've said before until you sing these songs repeatedly you can't always find the EXACT note if you're hearing something else. Nothing about his technical ability is in question, not his pitch, range, support, etc so I don't see a problem with this show. Now if you watch IIHY down the Jersey shore where he was everyplace OTHER than the note, THAT was hysterical and even he made jokes about it. Because the stage was awful with sound issues that day and they were using the radio stations equipment and people and playing next to an open body of water with no tent. I'd call that an OUCH not TSMGO, but mileage varies I guess. I can remember more Freddie performances where he avoided or truncated the notes than actually going for them so I'm good.

Where to begin . . . especially when beginnings and endings and in-between end in one destination - Adam! I will never doubt my compass; never question my confused, ecstatic, passionate sense of direction again. Hello Moscow, hello London, hello world - other world! No matter - I will find my way home. The light of a new star illuminates my path. :2tears: :2tears: :2tears: :2tears:

Bridgey - the thing is the ADAM WANTS IT! that's all that counts IMO. I think what Adam said was (paraphrasing cause can't be bothered going back to find video which has been his only comment) when asked without any time to think about it "sure that would be great, flattered, owe them heaps yada yada" or something like that. But not to quibble fandom has decided this would be great for his career so it must be so. Thankfully there are others around him who can look at the angles and provide him with some perspective as to what hitching his rising star to a falling and failing one might mean. But I'll stay out of it and see what plays out. Latz.
You know, what I love about Adam is that he is such a yes to life. I guess his cd sales aren't good. But to me he seems to be on this incredible journey, that goes all over the place, and he is loving it! Who knows what's next with him? I mean, an Idol judge???? Good or bad, Adam is hugely successful, and he may not be a big pop star, but he has the respect and to some degree, awe of the music community. He is so talented in so many dif aspects, I think he will have a lot of choices. And that is so exciting.

Nothing concert ruining (though TSMGO came close ) but there were definitely hiccups. Much better by London though... I agree. Even though the video quality was great and the size and energy of the crowd was awesome at Kiev, the performance wasn't the best of the 5 concerts to date. And yeah, TSMGO was pretty rocky in parts. From an aural perspective, I think the London shows have been the best. But until a professional DVD for London shows up (hopefully someday one will), I'm going to enjoy the splendor of Kiev. Even if the concert wasn't perfect, it's still Queen (who I have loved since I was about 12 years old) and Adam. It's a fantastic collaboration, and I enjoyed seeing all of those talented people performing some of my favorite music together. So, I've decided to overlook a few (metaphorical) withered trees and focus on enjoying the beautiful forest.

Well it certainly can't hurt. His career right now aint exactly at a sky high(not counting queen) ??? the "falling and failing" one is still #1 on the US TV in terms of # of viewers. I can't see how it can be dismissed, not to mention the $$s that could enable other projects. Running around the radio station and singing in front of 20-100 people is nuts! I can't believe how humiliating this process is.

Brian is the most amazingest person EVAH!!! brianmay.com/brian/brianssb/brianssbjul12a.html#13Well, I think we all felt the last couple nights in Hammersmith have been a moment of significance. In fact, perhaps especially last night. The band, as it is now, seems suddenly to have switched into a higher gear - more confident, having more fun … and stepping into new territory … an amazing thought at this stage in our lives and in our careers … to be honest, I would never have thought it possible before this journey with Adam Lambert began. Adam has his own style and path, and there was never any intention that he would be 'another Freddie" - but there are many parallels, in the mechanisms which we've already developed - coming together as an organic band. It's very pure - having no extra guitarist means I am back in the old place, as in the Old Days, completely responsible for holding up the 'wall' of sound, but also completely free to control the dynamics and 'feel', working more or less as a four-piece - something which is only possible because Adam is such a strong pivot and front-man. No backing singers - no dancers - it's pure - somehow it feels like Rock ought to be … … dangerous and stimulating. It's completely - real. In this epoch of auto-tune and hard discs on stage, that's pretty rare these days. And everybody seems to be having fun. Including … totally … US! Many thanks to you guys in the Hammersmith audience - no bunch of rockers could be more supportive and inspiring. The view above is something nobody else sees … it's from Pete Malandrone … my intrepid and unflappable Guitar Tech - this is the amazing sight from the Apollo (Odeon) stage - you guys are beautiful !! Love Bri besides AdamI totally love Brian. I was reflecting today with my husband on the wonder that such evolved human beings as Brian and Adam have found each other across the generational line to enliven and inspire each other in the best possible way. Brian's description of the purity of what they are doing musically made me cry. I wish for Adam all success as a solo artist but I think this other experience is so rare and so precious that it needs to be factored in as well. This kind of synergy is from a divine source and should be honored. I am sure it will be. From what Adam has been saying (paraphrasing) "whatever they offer, I am in." I dream of gigs in the US soon as this show is already together but even more, I dream of writing and recording new music together built on Adam's unique gifts in this reconstituted band. I see it all as an organic unit and not one intruding on the other. The exposure and experience of the group will help build an audience for his solo statements of who he is. The band will also provide good money so he is not entirely dependent on the vagaries of the present iteration of the music industry. I can't remember being so obsessed. This whole journey possess my mind and heart so completely. I keep asking myself, who are Adam and Queen in my distant path and how did we intersect that has left such an impression on my soul that in this life, I could happily drop everything to be a part of their magic.

I was lurking on the queenonline forum, and an admin said that the Q+AL merch would be on sale in the online store soon!! They also were having a discussion as the elmo coat being sold as merch, which i thought was hilarious. I hope those of you that lurk there will clue us in on when this happens. Perhaps a shirt might soothe my severe case of butthurt for being stateside instead of across the pond
