Random thoughts collected over the last couple of days: 1. I know that Dr. Brian's knee hurts...however white tennis shoes put a dent in the "ROCK STAR" vibe he has going on. 2. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if they play an Adam song on Saturday. NOT ONE BIT. It would be an amazing way to acknowledge Adam and from all accounts they like him quite a lot! 3. Adam would kick ass as an AI judge. He wants it. I don't really want to watch the show either. I would if he was on there and I still say that we can trend #voteforadam every week to add some fun. The fashion, the words, the facial expressions.....it would be Nirvana. 4. LOL at the "be more flamboyant" comment. Dude, did you miss the red jacket bit? Oh, you did? How about those sparkly zebra pants? and the twirling??? Missed those too? Anyway, nice to see someone wanting it to get even more crazy train. I'm on board. 5. I want, want, want, want a ROCK OPERA with Adam and Brian and Roger. Call it whatever you need to call it. Hell, get Meatloaf involved; he's an Adam fan and can do Rock Opera let him help write the thing. Make something that will be around FOREVER. They have it in them and it's oozing out of their skin. 6. Tour dates with Queenbert in the US. Yes please. At least a few. PLEASE! 7. The Queen fans have been living the fandom cray for decades and they don't seem to have a cool moniker. That's a little sad...... I can't think of one though. 8. I nominate TALON for the "YEAH COOL MAN JOINS THE BOARD AND SAYS AWESOME WORDS" winner of the week. That's what I have for today! WAAAAY late as usual, but I would say that will do!

Brian is the most amazingest person EVAH!!! brianmay.com/brian/brianssb/brianssbjul12a.html#13Well, I think we all felt the last couple nights in Hammersmith have been a moment of significance. In fact, perhaps especially last night. The band, as it is now, seems suddenly to have switched into a higher gear - more confident, having more fun … and stepping into new territory … an amazing thought at this stage in our lives and in our careers … to be honest, I would never have thought it possible before this journey with Adam Lambert began. Adam has his own style and path, and there was never any intention that he would be 'another Freddie" - but there are many parallels, in the mechanisms which we've already developed - coming together as an organic band. It's very pure - having no extra guitarist means I am back in the old place, as in the Old Days, completely responsible for holding up the 'wall' of sound, but also completely free to control the dynamics and 'feel', working more or less as a four-piece - something which is only possible because Adam is such a strong pivot and front-man. No backing singers - no dancers - it's pure - somehow it feels like Rock ought to be … … dangerous and stimulating. It's completely - real. In this epoch of auto-tune and hard discs on stage, that's pretty rare these days. And everybody seems to be having fun. Including … totally … US! Many thanks to you guys in the Hammersmith audience - no bunch of rockers could be more supportive and inspiring. The view above is something nobody else sees … it's from Pete Malandrone … my intrepid and unflappable Guitar Tech - this is the amazing sight from the Apollo (Odeon) stage - you guys are beautiful !! Love Bri besides Adamthis was lovely It's like a love letter to their fans.

I'm trying not to get too invested in this rumour..... was just hoping for something to kick some life back into Adam's US sales. (I can honestly see them going for someone really young like Miley...or Taylor Swift if they're courting a young demographic. :-/) I think either a U.S. Queen/Adam tour or a bunch of Trespassing shows could bump his sales somewhat but this Idol gig would cinch it so that is why I think it is crucial. Miley IMO is like one step above a Kardashian. Taylor Swift can't sing live and not much stage presence either. Mariah despite her more recent musical choices still probably one the best female vocalists ever so I am good with her. Could live with Fergie or Selena Gomez. Holy crap I think I just learned how to quote!

Not necessarily. Hollywood Week films in December. Then the live shows are February-May. Judges don't work everyday. He could be planning the tour during Idol, and then start doing concerts in June or July of next year. The judges work 2 days a week once the season starts. That is around March for the live shows. One week in January. And a few days for what are now the Las Vegas shows. Adam can defintiely tour. Besides, he likes to multi-task!

Don't tell me he is off the list damn it. See this is why they shouldn't spread rumors. Can you imagine how he will feel? SO now that his name has been tossed around, I want it so bad for him! and damn him too 'cause I'll have to watch AI again just to look at the pretty. Lastly, Miley Cyrus?????????? you have got to be kidding me. Yeah, I hope they didn't use Adam's name just to get the publicity rolling. Two years ago they tossed a lot of names around before they settled on Steven and Jennifer -- probably to keep the publicity machine going. I guess we shouldn't get our hopes up too high. But as I posted earlier, I think the decision will have to be made fairly soon, if they follow the same shooting schedule as last year. ETA: Gotta say it does piss me off a bit that Nigel is saying the rumor about Adam being a judge was created by fans. I think he knows very well where the rumor came from, and it wasn't from fans. J/S Nigel has always been really manipulative. Who knows what game he is playing? I don't like the tone of fan club business...

Well I have perfect pitch and nothing about that offended my ears, though I admit I'm not next to a piano. Are you saying he was flat? I barely heard that if at all. That's :45 of 4:25. Like I've said before until you sing these songs repeatedly you can't always find the EXACT note if you're hearing something else. Nothing about his technical ability is in question, not his pitch, range, support, etc so I don't see a problem with this show. Now if you watch IIHY down the Jersey shore where he was everyplace OTHER than the note, THAT was hysterical and even he made jokes about it. Because the stage was awful with sound issues that day and they were using the radio stations equipment and people and playing next to an open body of water with no tent. I'd call that an OUCH not TSMGO, but mileage varies I guess. I can remember more Freddie performances where he avoided or truncated the notes than actually going for them so I'm good. To this and all others who seemed to jump on this..I never said Kiev was a bad show...I just said that to deny that there were definite growing pains would just be wrong. They had growing pains and it is ok It still was a decent show despite the growing pains of their first gig together...and it has gotten better each date. But yeah Adam was very flat in the first verse of TSMGO. Like I said it could have been the monitors or whatever. I'm ecstatic after hearing it during last night's gig...I was disappointed with it at Kiev. No big deal:) As for Freddie truncating or actually going for notes - I'll give you that since he was more of a baritone with vocal nodules it was grueling to do it on tour. These songs are in Adam's range which definitely makes it easier for him...BUT for the record, I can't remember any time Freddie was off key and I have over 1000 bootlegs. I do have a funny time where his voice cracked once or twice though No one, not even god...er..Freddie is perfect I hope those of you that lurk there will clue us in on when this happens. Perhaps a shirt might soothe my severe case of butthurt for being stateside instead of across the pond I'll definitely let you guys know I completely agree with you BEYOND words! I'll go as far as to say it was MANY SEVERAL years since B&R had that with even Freddie when he was alive, who, IMO phoned it in quite a bit. Let's be honest here. Notwithstanding his "passion" was quite ~different than Adam's. Now this I never saw and again I've seen over 100-200 videos of gigs. I've never seen Freddie "phone it in". There are times of course where the band wasn't quite getting along during the 1984 tour for example, but they never let it get in the way of their shows. And they always were able to put aside any friction and have great shows. I will definitely agree that B&R are enjoying themselves again for the first time in awhile...probably because they are working with someone who is more along Freddie's line of entertainment so it's probably a real rush of nostalgia for them. But one of my fav gigs to see videos of is their last gig in Knebworth and while they were tired from a stadium tour, the band (except maybe John - but that's another story) seemed to be having a blast with each other.

fly by report from QO: due to the lovely post by Dr. Bri they are talking a possibility of a collab album, like we are concentrating on the possibility of a US tour ... the interesting thing about it is that the tone changed from "Lambert can't sing" to "Lambert can't write" (example:"Add the fact that lambert can't write a song to save his life? To put it this way; if you think tcr was a bad album, a whole album with lambert would be a disaster"...) ... and so it goes ;D ..kinda sad that some "Queen fans" would not stand by their boys...

I'm personally very zen about this situation....partly because I've fully accepted that his path to greatness is to be an unconventional/ unique one...which now makes perfect sense to me. And partly because the fact that his name is even in play as credible means if not this opportunity then there will be another.
And if Idol is true, well AMAZING! And if not, thank God he dodged the bullet of an aging show in decline that insists on reannointing the same boring winner every year!
Oh, and the show was....just hard to describe. First time live for me. Not over it yet.
