Chris Brown is a thug, I don't buy his music and never will. And the Rhianna beating happened almost 2 years ago and so did the AMAs. I am on team #theAMAscatapultedAdamintotheinternationalscene We all know, if it was any one of us, they would have called security and we would have been taken out in handcuffs!
well of course, but that's any celebrity in general isn't it? Do you think the average citizen in CA serves 43 minutes in jail for a DUI? The world of celebrity, a world which Adam belongs to mind you, is one of privledge and ridiculousness. I enjoy reading everyone's POV and understand where you all are coming from but for me, the incidents are completely different and therefore one has nothing to do with the other. Both things are wrong... Adam being removed from ABC and ABC apologizing and asking Chris back.... and I agree with writing letters to ABC about Chris Brown's behavior if you feel that strongly about it. I guess for me the question is if ABC hadn't cancelled Adam, would there be this much outrage or is it likely that none of us would have even noticed Chris Brown was on GMA in the first place since most aren't fans to begin with.

My feelings about his tirade and ABC's and GMA's response has nothing to do with Adam, for me. If Adam didn't exist it woud still piss me off. I respond to injustices all the time, even before Adam.

oh dear we're rehashing the show that can't be named....I better go do some cleaning! lol!I won't rehash it, but I'm happy to name it: Adam's IMO unforgettable and ground-breaking AMA performance of "For Your Entertainment." (I'm the "forever defender" of Adam Lambert's AMA performance of FYE, which I loved. The other day, someone called it "a mistake" - not in my book, or posts at least - never.) Bridget we share the same feelings about his raunchy rock and roll spirited performance on the AMAs (oh and ROb Sheffield from Rolling Stone agreed with us BTW but can't find the article link)...

someone upthread asked if everyone had received their mycharity:water photos... I haven't. I think many are still waiting. I know someone who was in the first wave of emails who hasn't received it yet so I think it's going to be awhile. I don't mind that at all. With the DVD release done, it gives me something to look forward to. I'm sorry if this has already been answered.....but I have been feeling kinda low here... no DVD yet(living in Bermuda is not so good if you are a AFL stan!!!!!!!!!!!) and no signed photo either. Did you receive a request to send the email or did I miss the boat AGAIN and was supposed to send it?? Does anyone know? (help!)

I guess for me the question is if ABC hadn't cancelled Adam, would there be this much outrage or is it likely that none of us would have even noticed Chris Brown was on GMA in the first place since most aren't fans to begin with.
Well, like I said earlier, for me personally it is precisely the relation between the two incidents, and the fucked up values system that relation indicates--what that says about our psuedo-puritanical feelings about violence vs. sex (blah blah blah) in this country--that bothers me. The fact that, as Bridget said, ABC somehow manages to draw the line behind Brown and in front of Adam. I mean, what kind of fuckery is that? So in my case, you're right, if ABC hadn't canceled Adam, I wouldn't feel anywhere near the outrage I feel now--I'm not questioning the right of "news" organizations to interview violent offenders on TV (though there are ways to do it with more integrity)--and I certainly wouldn't have noticed the Brown incident. But the fact is that ABC did cancel Adam for being bi-sexy, and did grovel to a violent Brown, and yeah, now that I know about it, that pisses me off. But I should say that it frankly hasn't pissed me off enough for me to write anyone about it (though if I did write about it, I would be explicit about the connection in my mind to the Adam story and why I think this represents a worrying American double standard--my letter would be only cursorily about Adam and Brown, who would only be symbolic actors in my argument). However, major props to you, Wonderstruck, for continuing the discussion in a thoughtful and reasonable way, and not getting defensive (not that I think you need to feel defensive--I think everyone here respects what you've had to say). Sometimes, online, that's hard to do (I know), and you've done it very intelligently and gracefully. ETA: LOL Mys*&@^#r, Tinafea, et all--great minds think...in myriad different ways! Isn't that nice, though? And thanks for the continued countdown reminders, mys*&@^#r!
