Thanks for posting the bit with Gaga. She really is quite the delight live and does include some interesting banter. I will never forget her show in phoenix talking about sb1070, heartfelt and intelligent. She can share a great story and be funny. I am happy Adam shared about Queen on stage. I am there for the music of course but I like when the artist attempts to connect with the audience. /quote] Your comments reminded me of the first time I attended a Johnny Mathis concert. Now I am not quite old enough to be in his fan base, I went to the show with my Mom . In any case his voice was great and he sung all of the songs he is famous for but the shocking thing was he said about 10 words over the course of the evening and most of them were "thank you". The man has been performing for over 40 years and he has never developed or maybe just never felt the need to work on his stage banter. I guess all artists have to play to their strengths and what they consider most importance to their performance.

Well, I was there last night, and the show sounded GREAT! Background singers are much more background than in some of the videos. After the show, everyone around me was talking about how good every song sounded and how good the sound was and how Adam had nailed them all. The only problem was that I never wanted the concert to end. On the way home, MyS*&@^#r and I were talking about how even good YouTube videos never really sound like the live experience. Honestly, guys, the live concert sound experience was great, and I have a reasonably good ear. I loved Adam and Queen, but I also loved seeing Adam do his own songs again. Adam is so all around talented he just blows me away, and he keeps getting better and better! What a lovely post!!!! I finally figured who he reminds me of and I think I'm starting to understand where he's heading: two very sexy gentlemen rocking the stage in their suits - David Byrne of Talking Heads ( check it out if you want - www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzORu1dqEE0&feature=player_detailpage) and Bryan Ferry ( www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=iIUrLpvE3Rk ) We'll see. I like it, A LOT! ETA: Lifetraveler, YES to everything you just said :D Loved your earlier post, and you nailed it! That is exactly how Adam was last night! "Cool elegant" and classy with a twist and a little camp. LOVED it. (Also love David Byrne and Brian Ferry!!!!!)

Is it safe to say anything less than glowing about the Vajayjays here? I like the IDEA of live backing singers, but, there are consistent pitch problems that interfere with my enjoyment of the songs. It is jarring to hear. Don't know the solution, as having live singers is a definite asset when it comes to Adam having more freedom, but...... I don't know about any "rules" about whats safe to say or not but I'd think that people that are at the shows can say if the girls are ruining the songs in person. Because it seems to me Adam would NOT be having any of that repeatedly in front of thousands of people. They are professional singers doing vocals in studios for other singers so I don't know how they can personally be that bad live, especially on every song. It's kind of sad to come on here this morning, after experiencing that wonderful show last night and read many comments. Really, the sound was perfect AT the venue! I could hear everyone! It may be the best sound mix I've seen at an Adam concert, besides Foxwoods! The Vajays are awesome and do nothing but add to the show. Adam loves them, he loves interacting with them. It is obvious this band loves each other and the audience! Their joy of working together carries over to the audience and the audience was NUTSO for them!! I'm going to go watch coz2mwiz's videos now and relive the wonderful night I had. BTW, her's seem to have the best sound so far. Oh, one more thing, lynne and I both commented that Adam was "different." There was a level of confidence I have never seen before. Hard to describe, but this post on one of the videos says it well. I'm noticing a sophistication in Adam's delivery now that was perhaps mere eagerness before. These three opening numbers showcase not only his talent, but also his personality / showmanship . . . confidence without cockiness. He has always been great, but Adam's upping the bar even for himself.

I think probably the only true evaluation of the sound of a concert can be made by people who were there. I haven't heard him yet this era. When he was in PA it was a crazy time in RL. I so hope I get an opportunity to hear him. Unfortunately my family just rolls their eyes at my Adam stanning.

Just to make a comment on that. I won't judge what you thought about him being tired DURING the concert and that he didn't give his usual all, that's your opinion of course and I wasn't there, but saying that he was tired and justifying this by his tweet AFTER the concert? Of course he was tired after the concert. He gave his all dancing and singing. I mean when I was at the Queen shows, staying 10 HOURS in line, dancing my ass off, screaming and jumping up and down for 2 hours, I was exhausted, I couldn't move, my thighs hurt and after a good 6 hours sleep I was ready the next day to stand in line for 10 more hours and dance my ass off again (which I did) and I'm 52.

After each song, literally, all the people around me were turning to each other with looks like, "Can you believe how good he is?" Not even kidding, jaws wide open. This venue has great sound; I noticed that last year as well.

That's it! Sophisticated confidence ( w/o cockiness), these words describe him perfectly. Words, words... like suave also come to my mind.
Thanks, Mys*&@^#r!

It really depends where your seat is I guess. My experience at the GNT here approached awful.
Once again thanks for the fabulous videos. Adam sounded amazing!!!!!
