RP stands for received pronunciation. In Serbian as well, only RP is allowed in schools. So, as soon someone opens their mouth, you can tell the level of their education. Detecting regional accents in one's speech is generally frowned upon. Having said that, I want to add that I know nothing about AmE accent policy and I am deeply sorry if I have offended anyone by my careless comment. |
