Ahem, how to begin. I just wanna apologize that I was so in denial against Adam judging in AI. He deserves the chance for sure and if he desires to do it, I believe he will be great as usual. I'm an activist and have been for years, however I do not see homophobia in every word spoken and every word unspoken. IMO the word homophobia is used WAY too loosely these days just as the word bully is used too loosely and because of this the impact and meaning of these words have been and continue to be diminished.



What do you see about Adam that makes him effeminate? His choice to wear eyeliner and nail polish? plenty of straight men do that. He doesn't speak with an effeminate lilt to his voice, he doesn't walk with an effeminate gait, he doesn't wear effeminate clothing. Adam is a man who embraces his feminine side but that doesn't make him effeminate.

Brad explained that the song was about women who try to turn their men into someone different than who they started dating. This is NOT a commentary on gay men but rather a commentary on men who change themselves to please their women.



I'm pretty sure if you listen to the entire song and don't cherry pick the last two verses you'll understand what the song is about. It's about a man who loves his woman enough to do things for her he wouldn't normally do but no enough to change who he is.



Are you implying that ALL men who get facials, manicures, etc are effeminate? He's not "attacking" anyone, he's saying he's not gonna do that stuff. It's equal to him saying I'm a "man's man"



What stupidity? Guys like sex. They will try for it any chance they get. A back rub can turn into more and that's what he's referring to. He's not diminishing anyone.

I agree that it's sad for children who aren't accepted for the people they were born to be but that's not limited to LGBT children. There are children who are not accepted because they aren't smart enough, pretty enough, athletic enough, whatever...there are children who are kicked out of their homes for a myriad of reasons that have nothing to do with gender roles and this song or songs like it aren't the reason.



There have been plenty of times that I've said "grow a pair" or "sack up" to men AND to women.... it's a figure of speech....it's not a commentary on their sexuality or gender.



I find that description of Adam quite offensive and demeaning to be honest.



I also find the description of Brad offensive.

GQs comment was ridiculous but IMO it no way compares to lyrics of ONE song by an artist who by all accounts is a good guy.



You're holding Brad to a pretty high standard. Perhaps some research is in order before labeling him as a homophobe. Snap judgments aren't fair to ANYONE regardless of the circumstances of their birth.



Why does one have to be closely related to an LGBT person to have a clue? I've walked, worked and struggled along side the LGBT community for years, but no, I'm not closely related to a gay person; that doesn't mean I'm clueless.

If you're as guilty of stereotyping as those you rail against; in the end, it will turn people off to what you're saying, even if you have valid points.

Given the amount of moolah they're throwing at Mariah, I doubt they'd want to pay Sheen his very high asking price AND pay for the insurance to cover Charlie Sheen on a LIVE show. If they could even get insurance on him.
