Crap, I was just checking Dawnmist for new audio downloads and found her Mediafire account has been suspended. terra tweeted about her Mediafire account being suspended a few days ago. (terra was/is trying to replace her files.) Devenlane's account is ok. I've listed about a zillion links that aren't going to work anymore.  |

Ok... I looked up Darius Rucker - he is black and a rocker, this would mean no Randy and a white dude seat is opened  However, if they are looking for a country person - we are screwed... Darius is now a big country music star but was formerly a big pop/rock star as the lead singer of Hootie and the Blow Fish. I think Darius is a BRILLIANT choice. Not a brilliant choice if he somehow takes the spot that might have gone to Adam. I don't even care if Randy stays - just want like crazy to see Adam on that panel. ETA- If Randy goes and this Rucker comes on (I had never heard of him before today) then maybe Adam would fill the bill as young and current pop and exciting. It would then be - older established female singer, older country star-40's- and young, up-and-coming male pop singer. ETAA- just read that this possibility of Rucker began on twitter and not from Idol or any other in-the-know scource. |

No, Darius is now Counrty with a rock edge and a very cool guy!! That's why he would be perfect! Rock, Country, Afro American all rolled into one person!! BTW, it was SusieFierce who brought up his name! ETA: Remember Hootie and the Blowfish? That is Darius! ...... if IRC Nica didn't know who Mariah Carey was so..... Hootie and the Blowfish would probs be a long shot!  ......and Tobey Keith....... really???? Uggggghhhhh!!!! I'll take Brad or Darius any day over TK..... just sayin'. Mind you, I haven't watched Idol since season 8 (unless AFL was on) so it won't matter much anyway.  - great memory! and you are absolutely correct-I have no idea what or who Hootie&Blowfish are but I do like the name ;D ( I can assure you that the level of my ignorance is much deeper than anyone on this board can imagine actually... (I can name only one Madonna song for instance, but at least I knew who she was BA)).As you, I haven't watched Idol past Adam and have no intentions of doing so unless BB is on... |

Just so you all know, the Darius Rucker discussion came from people on twitter talking about good Country stars. It did not come from Idol or any news source. Of course, because Idol/FOX is not smart enough to get Darius and Adam! : So True! They would rather aim for someone like Toby Keith... gag! AI seems to be trying to cater to their older, more conservative audience instead of trying to get judges like The Voice and X Factor and appeal to a younger and newer audience. Maybe that is their "strategy"? : |

Just saw on-line that Ryan Seacrest is reporting from the Olympics. So, my guess would be no official Idol announcement of the 3 judges until after August 12th! :( They will probably do a press conference with all 3 judges and Ryan to make their big announcement. That's what they did the year they signed JLo and Steven anyway. (When does Adam leave for Japan?) ETA: August 18 and 19, 2012: Summer Sonic 2012 Festival Concert, Osaka and Tokyo, Japan.OK, so Adam would leave here probably on the 16th. Which makes the beginning of that week, the 13th, 14th, or 15th a perfect time for the Idol PR! He has a Japanese TV thing on the 15th, and there is 16 hour time difference. He'll have to leave on the 13th at the latest. |
