Not sure if this was already posted elsewhere. An interview with David Geffen and how important repetition is in music today. On the Music Industry Now Asked his thoughts about the opportunities and challenges of entering the music business as a producer or executive today, he deadpanned: "I'd kill myself." And it's no easier to break in as an artist now, he notes, attributing the difficulties to the absence of Top 40 radio and an outlet like MTV to air music videos on a loop. "You need repetition," he said of what he describes as a crucial element of discovery. "You need to be able to hear things a lot." www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/industry/tv-film/david-geffen-i-d-kill-myself-rather-than-1007644152.story

"Home" just went to #1 on i-Tunes. Wow! I wonder how songs are chosen by NBC for things like the Olympics?

Someone at Audiobrain is an Idol fan. First Cook's Time of My Life and now Home. I am happy for P2! I am going to send out positive vibes to any Idol that can break the Idol bias or whatever it is. It can only help every other Idol trying to break through!

According to Idolchatter, Trespassing has left BB200. Brian posts some data on those below #200, no Adam though which sucks.

Sad, but knew it was going to happen. Hope this means they will still throw support behind a third single. It would be unusual.
This is a weird time. There's a few more concerts scheduled and PLL in October, otherwise, I have no idea where Adam and RCA are going with things this fall.

Do we have any #'s for his overseas sales? Maybe they are solid enought to keep him afloat.
I just posted over the new thread that on Amazon Movers & SHakers is up 76%
was 474 but now 268. As noted in the other thread, I have no idea how this position equates into cd sales. 50 CD or possibly 100 cd???
GOod news, He's selling a little...better than nothing

I don't think international sales are anything great. He needs a hit.

To be honest he did good to stay in the top #200 for 10 weeks. That's longer than anyone expected with no radio hit. For the last 4 weeks his sales have been fairly stable although dropping. He dropped roughly 250 units per week over the last 4 weeks so he probably sold somewhere just shy of 2500 this week. We'll know more once we get the leaked numbers and see what the numbers were for #200. The reality is that without some kind of radio presence he will not be likely to get back in to the top 200. Unless something big happens we are not likely to get numbers anymore.
