Ok I bow to you myspenser since I'm sure you monitored those stations. I just know I listened to Q102, B104 (during the BTIKM era) and KRZ Wilkes Barre and I heard it ONCE on KRZ during the day. But I wasn't listening all day every day so my perception is skewed. THis is my radio station, 24/7. AND I never heard it during the day.. as well as another fan who I go to the concerts w. She listens 24/7 because we text each other when we hear it, etc...as well as complain when NCOE didn't make the countdown...lol!

I want to be optimistic and I am (kinda) but didn't RCA say the same thing about KA? That they supported him and were treating him like a new artist? Was gonna answer this KA comparison, but I see tigerlily already did and couldn't have said it better myself: "An artist has to bring something...anything to the table! They have to either have singles or albums that sell well, or some international interest, or a celebrity status that keeps their name and image in the public. An artist has to give the label something to work with and KA didn't do that."

Just saw this comment over at MJs:
.
P2's song has consistently been in the top 100 on iTunes for two months now. It's iTunes ranking has stayed high, despite the fact that it's total AI has been between 6 and 7 million at the song's highest peak.
It really does seem that there is a push back from Pop radio stations against contestants from AI (not named Kelly). The HAC stations are even slow on playing the Idols.

They played it at 8:00 and of course they played it during countdowns. It got as high as #26 on their playlist for a short time and stayed in the 30s for a long time.

I listen to Q102 all day at work, from 8-5pm, and during the drive home. The first few wks the song was out they didn't play it before 7pm, I don't really consider that prime time. It made the 10@10 countdown, but I don't think consistently. IIRC one weekend when it was pretty much too late for the song they played it every couple of hrs, I'm guessing RCA had something to do with that, and only after the song started losing spins did they play it a handful of times at noon during the week. I remember sitting there thinking why are they bothering playing it now during the day when the song has no chance! Maybe if Q gave it more spins during the day in the beginning of the songs life if would have helped! Anyway it's water under the bridge but just wanted to comment since Q is my station I was pretty optimistic about the idol gig until yesterday when the other names were being thrown around, hopefully he still has a shot. I don't care how lame AI is anymore, being on tv twice a week in front of 18 million ppl can turn everything around for this era.

Just seconding what mys*&@^#r says based on tracking the spins. Ears listening '24/7' are fallible, but mediabase and the people in fandom monitoring spins online as a group can sometimes be more accurate.

That is exactly what I meant by they moved it around to try to find an audience for it. It didn't work! Good to see you, rabbitrabbit! Hope your summer adventure is going well!

I"m guessing RCA made a call asking them to up the spins hoping to get the song into the top 50 to get more recognition from pds, I beleive this is when the song was close to the top 50.

It wasn't a weekend. It was during the week for about 2 weeks. The last 3 weekends, that they were playing NCOE they had special weekends. 1st was Retro, 2nd was Boy Bands and the 3rd was I forgot. I distinctly remember because it made me mad because I knew it meant NCOE would automatically not get spins because of that! Whatever, water under the bridge now. Let's just hope they jump on board with Cuckoo and that RCA has gotten some support this time from Z100!

I only remember the one weekend, but maybe it was 2 wkends they had the song in heavy rotation. Like you said, whatever, it doesn't matter anymore.
