OK, Q3, I also have a quetsion about the Hi Fi/Wilshire thing. Why would Adam and Monte give up their rights to the songs? That's what doesn't make sense to me. They are the song writers. I thought the song writer is always the one who keeps the rights? Many indie artists produce and sell their own records. Were they just too anxious to jump on the "we have a label" train and signed all of this away (their music) without thinking about the repercussions? I know Adam was "green" and new to the record scene, but I would think Monte would have been more informed about the business. Mys*&@^#r, I think Q3 is referring to the publishing of those recordings only. Not necessarily owning the full rights to the songs... if that makes sense. I will wait for Q3 to clarify, and I'll delete if I don't know what I'm talking about.   |

Hopped on to see if there was chat and was hopping off again when I saw the comment. Totally respect yr pov and understand that sick feeling completely, but feel need to clarify. I was depressed not by the discussions per se - everyone knows I err on the side of 'talk'  - but by the fact that so many comments on boards re the incident played down the seriousness of what CB did. All of my comments were too long to post frankly so I deleted. But basically they focused on the fact that bullies intimidate through violence and rage, that this behavior in a work place/public is ALREADY an assault on those who experience it. And CB won b/c the behavior got him more attn, lot of sympathy and a new invite.And I have no prob w/using Adam's earlier situation to compare/contrast unhealthy attitudes towards sex/violence. Albert Brooks famously noted that in one of his movies (Lost in America?) they wouldn't let him use 'fuck' b/c of context - "So," he said, "I can't say I want to fuck my wife (in the moive) on this table, but I can say I want to fuck her up with this table?" The answer was yes. That was all somewhere around the core of my depression - along w/some other stuff. Please return to pic spam, I will do laundry or wear the same shirt again for 3 days. You said it all Mika..I bolded the part that really struck home for me. I, too, believe that we have very unhealthy attitudes towards sex and violence today. Thank you. Why the AMA's have been so touchy for me, I guess I do not fully understand personally yet. I truly appreciate your post.  |

Just went to pick up the mail and the chairty water signed Adam print arrived.  Going to head over to the frame shop and see what type of frame and matting can be created to include picture and letter. Would like to frame the poster from the tour pack, too. |
