The very important, and self-important, music critic for THE NEW YORKER, reviews mostly hip hop. He did, however, manage to write a super-glowing review of Lana Del Ray's cd. I think it's the power of her tits.
Of course, he didn't bother to review TP. All for the best I suppose.

What's interesting to me is that Trespassing only has 10 reviews while Frank Ocean has 41! All glowing. Teenage Dream only has 19. The list of best reviewed has essentially no pop and mostly obscure people imo. Kelly Clarkson only has 11 reviews of Stronger and the UK one gave her a 20. Q didn't even review. This is interesting. The band my son plays in, a small-label indie kind of thing, has between 20 and 24 metacritic-counted reviews on each of their albums. I guess a lot of critics do not review many pop albums. Much more hip to review indie, alternative, rap, etc. ... peace&love Oh wow. YAY for him! Yeah I dont understand why people not into pop do pop reviews. Ego I guess. Q did like Born This Way but they review a whole lot more non pop.

Here's the quote I like:
"Critics are like eunuchs in a harem; they know how it's done, they've seen it done every day, but they're unable to do it themselves."
Are we bitter....or are we bitter? LOL

They are very sexy and classic at the same time. They could sway a reviewer's snobbishness

An out gay pop star? Who the fuck cares, as long as he is banned from the radio, so the kiddos aren't converted. A kind of gay, maybe bi, rap star? What a revelation, can't heap enough praise on him! Interesting that you brought this up because I've been thinking about it a lot the past few days. I wonder why coming out, after your career is established or at least has been building creed and a fanbase as a straight guy, is considered so amazing. But being out, all along like Adam, is not given the respect I think it deserves. IDK, so much I don't get. I saw on the news tonight that a large coalition of Afro American minsters is against "marriage equality" and urging the President to change his stance. Seriously, EQUALITY!!!! Afro American minsters should get this!!

I have seen black ministers that are against marriage equality interviewed, and it is discouraging. Thankfully, the NAACP has come out in favor marriage equality. Also the Dems are putting support for marriage equality in their platform. No doubt, steps in the right direction.

Afro American minsters should get this!! Well for one thing, even on Pulse for example, Ocean's fans were saying he's a good representative because he's "not camp". That's the new euphemism for effeminate. : Apparently it's a big deal to be Urban gay. I guess Banjee is ~almost cool. Not to bring up the topic that caused so much consternation last week LOL but even Adam said it in the Q interview that was posted: You're happy with that, you don't ever think, Leave me out of the politics I just want to sing?
"What's hard about being one of the few [openly gay US popstars] is that even with the gay community there's so much scrutiny from them. Some say you're not being gay enough, too gay, Why are you flamboyant? Why aren't you masculine? You don't represent us well. There are so many different types of gay dude, what's the difference? The gay community celebrates strong women, they don't necessarily celebrate strong men unless they're really straight acting. It's almost a study in extremes and that's what really good things about the album. It's saying no one is really one dimensional."I understand it in the LGBT community, it's always been that way but for mainstream people IDK. I guess because Frank's not even really serving them the full package LOL. I've never seen the guy so I have no idea about that. He did tweet this though, so LOL SNAP frank ocean @frank_ocean and the women still scream in the front row, contrary to what a naysayer might think.

Didn't Frank come out as bi? Is bi now considered to be "kind of gay"? He is a member of the LGBT community and it took a great deal of courage to come out and say so.
