I found the original article that mentioned Adam as an Idol judge. It was E! News and here is the quote: The latest name to be floated around at Fox as a possible new judge is—get ready for it—Idol alum Adam Lambert!
"They have been talking about Adam for over a month," a source exclusively tells E! News. "He personifies the show, and will be a popular choice right from the start. He knows what it's like to be on the receiving end of the judges' comments, he has a human touch, and they know they can't go wrong if they bring him on. He would be able to bring a unique perspective to the show. People love him."www.eonline.com/news/328551/american-idol-shakeup-fox-considering-adam-lambert-as-judgeSame one I believe is first --

It's a great movie, a dark comedy. It ridicules man's desire to stay forever young, at any cost. Goldie Hawn is also hilarious. Agreed, Goldie Hawn is really funny in that movie another great Goldie movie is "Witches of Eastwick" and "Over board". I loved Goldie in "First Wives Club" with Bette Midler and Diane Keaton.

I can't find any report from Fox news that says that Brad Paisley said "no". May be a real news report, but I can't find it.
As of 12 hours ago, a very reliable source from Nashville tweeted:
Jimmy Carter @askjimmycarter Brad Paisley still in Idol Judge discussion…face to face in La Tues.. went well and talks go on…Vegas posting NO bets right now..me 70/30.

Whew! Just got back from a week's vacation (NO internet!) and am trying to get caught up with all the posts and goings on.
For whatever this is worth: according to the entertainment news portion of my local Fox station's newscast, Brad Paisley has told the Fox and AI execs that he's not interested in becoming an Idol judge. So he's out of the running! It wouldn't surprise me in the least if there are people who just do not want to work with Mariah! Her diva reputation is legendary! But, I still think that no news sources or gossip sites have real news on this subject. I think there are just rumors fueling other rumors. If what you say about Mariah is true, maybe she has the "Simon Chair", as was discussed yesterday... ;D

I had to take my husband for a dr. appt. yesterday. I held him captive for 4 hrs. roundtrip. We listened to Adam and Queen. He was really impressed. Other than the really well known Queen songs he was unfamiliar with the group (being a bluegrass kinda guy) I beleive he enjoyed the trip. I know I did.

There is evidence that spelling ability is almost totally genetic (separated twin studies) and some kind of innate capacity. >> I do not believe this is the case and believe our education system is based on consistent methods that work for most students but not all students. From one study (1995) of 159 elementary students in grades 3-5.The elementary from which the sample was taken is located in rural Ohio: A positive correlation was found between intelligence scores, obtained on the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test, and the subject areas of reading (.49), English (.50), social studies (.44), science (.51), and math (.47). A lesser correlation was found with spelling (.30). No significant differences were noted in correlations between intelligence of genders and any of the academic categories. For non-stat people, a correlation of .30 is a very weak positive correlation. These results have been replicated many times -- with a wide range of ages. The most interesting studies are in the extremes -- extremely poor spellers with High IQs, and people who have photographic memory skills and superior spelling but Low IQs. A very large percentage of artists, performers, architects, programmers and engineers fall into the High IQ, non-traditional learner categories. It is one of the times when what is intuitive turns out to be true. And it is one reason that we need to support arts education and design education in our schools. -------- Back to Adam -----While I really appreciate the global need for water and Charity: Water, I have been thinking that we should perhaps celebrate Back to School in the US with an ATop Donors Choose project. Just a modest project -- but one related to music or theater. Is anyone game? [/quote] Luckily, spell check makes it less important these days to be a good speller. One of my pet peeves, and I'm an English teacher, is other teachers who decide poor spelling or bad handwriting indicates less intelligence in students, and I've run into these types, believe me! Off topic, but you started it Q3, lol. My husband is a terrible speller and graduated from Harvard with a 4.0. As for Donors Choose, I'm in.

Does anyone know -- can Sauli spell? Because I think non-spellers find spellers to mate up with. I am a non-speller married to a spelling bee winner and brilliant man. Our son, unfortunately cannot spell. I won!

I am an excellent speller (hey, typos don't count!)

Mariah does not look like a minority, so IMO she does not count as such. Please let me be wrong!
