If Queen was approached and said yes, then Brian and Roger would bring Adam in. If they did not approach Queen for Skyfall, then Adam has no chance presently to get such a song, imo.... But I do tend to think that Arnold did approach Queen late last year and while Adam may not have been on anyone's radar in the media at that time yet, obviously, B&R were already talking to Adam, so I am still hopeful that this actually comes about. And the fact that we hear nothing about this means nothing. Of course they would be hush about it, if it were true. Adam was longer in the UK than just media and Queen rehersals. There were some 'mysterious days' in there and I believe that either the Olympics or the Bond flick story pan out, because something happened during that time. Now asking for both may be pushing it, but I certainly would not mind that either - lol ETA: Q3, I posted them earlier today, they were from November 2011: www.digitalspy.com/music/news/a35....theme-tune.htmlHere is another one: www.contactmusic.com/news/david-arnold-wants-queen-for-bond-theme_1264952The Adele article above is much more recent, I had not read that yet, when I posted.

Signing in after a week away - first on a business trip/vacation in SoCal (hi MyS*&@^#r <wave>) and then catching up at work after getting back. The threads have been very interesting the past few days and I've just spent the past couple hours reading about gay acting, Idol judges, twirling Adam, radio play, and "must haves" etc. So in no particular order, here are some of my thoughts (feel free to scroll...) I thnk Adam would be a great judge on Idol, but I think he'd really shine on something like the Voice or the Sing Off, where contestants are valued more for their talent than their market potential. Although a top 10 hit for Adam would be great, I don't think he needs it to be happy or sucessful. As Q said in her post, there are lots of paths to sucess. Have you heard of John Barrowman? He's an Scot/American actor/singer who has made a great career for himself in England with cabaret, theater, recording, tv personality, and actor (Captain Jack on Torchwood and Dr Who). Adam could follow a similar path. Adam is a great actor and I'm sure he could ace any role he chooses. You don't get hired for a broadway touring show just because you have a good voice - you have to be a high-caliber actor, too. And as an amature singer myself, one of my favorite things about Adam is the way he ACTS out his songs. This was clear as far back as Upright Cabaret ("Come home") - and I think he could use the Glamnation DVD as an acting demo reel. Each song was a piece of perforance art.... Q3 asked for our nominations of "must have" Adam moments, so I checked my hard drive and came up with three candidates 1 - the studio version of Feeling Good - Season 8 - breathtaking, the song that sealed my fandom. 2 - the Confidentials (videos) from the Idol house (the perfect introduction to Adam's personality) 3 - Beth Sparkly (video from Idol finale) - leather, shoulder cage, sequins, "me and the boys will be playing all night <wink>) and people were STILL wondering if he was really gay : (If I were more clever, I'd add them to this post, but I'm still new at this. But I wouldn't be surprised if you already have copies ... Now, gotta stop for the gymnastics final - I know who won but its still fun to watch

The "Nice lips anyway" remarks came from banter from the Upright Cafe I think from New Years Eve. He was wearing a blue suit and was standing by a piano. It stuck in my brain because a lot of his audience seemed IMO to be a little bit on the snickering side about having to kiss a girl and his response was so sweet and stop the snickering. I felt he was defending his actress friend in particular and women as fellow people in general and so it stuck firmly in my brain. I can't remember where he said that he was not a gay that said yuk when he touched a women but from photos of him making out with women at parties and in bars, I would say this is true. Here's the Upright Cabaret video where he talks about kissing his co-star.

Some months back, I was thinking about Adam and the current music scene. Everyone knows - at least we do - that Adam has a glorious voice that can only be compared to the GREAT singers of the past. Who hasn't Adam been compared to? Elvis, Freddie, MJ, Sinatra, and that's just on the male side. Meatloaf has compared Adam to Aretha and Whitney.
Anyway, I was thinking about how big voiced, gifted-by-God singers are no longer embraced. It occurred to me that in today's market a Whitney or a Mariah Carey could never make it. This, was, of course, long before there was any talk about Mariah signing on as resident diva on Idol and releasing new music.
So cut to last week when I heard Mariah was going to release a new single. I felt that even if the publicity photo Mariah released to celebrate her Idol signing was old school, she would be smart enough to dumb down for the current market. Sure enough, Mariah is "featured" on her own single.

Please let Adam sing a Bond theme!!! Many of them become iconic (Goldfinger, Spy who Loved Me, Live and let die ... ) and he would kill it!

Well Adam has said that acting is not his strongest skill, so based on just that I'd guess he'd chose a role that spoke to him. Not to mention the relentless press that would be so judgmental. It would have to be a great role imo. Regardless, if I had to bet I would put ALL my money on him not being interested in a part in a straight romantic comedy. Maybe some variation on a Will & Grace type thing if it HAD to involve a close connection with a woman it'd be a BFF. Or the reverse of When Harry Met Sally which is only vaguely in my mind but picturing him in the restaurant when she faked the orgasm is LMAO. Adam would be good in comedy, I think, and that's pretty hard but he seems to have a gift for it. He'd be sweet in a Sleepless in Seattle type of deal, with a kid as the focus but I can not under any circumstances see the love interest being a woman at this time. I just don't think he'd feel it something he'd relate to and he HAS said he's not going to even put songs on his album that he doesn't feel. I mean, maybe a NPH who has been faking it his whole life finds it easy to just keep on, but most gay men I know are like the guy who called into WWHL :
I'm picturing him laughing during the Details photoshoot and imagining that on a movie set. Um, no. [/IMG] It's not even about skillz it's more about wanting to be bothered for several months forcing yourself to display and sell something you're not even REMOTELY interested in.
swarm - this is the first time I vehemently disagree with you and I will go further to state that you are expressing YOUR OWN feeling towards acting as an interest with a woman. I have no idea what Adam would feel, but the point about ACTING IS ACTING. It is not being yourself. That's what great actors do. They mostly do not play themselves... From watching a few bits of Adam's acting - I agree that he is not a great actor. He knows that thank god. I hope to see him on the big screen, but IMO - he needs to sing, anything else would be a bonus - hopefully - but it would be taking a great risk IMO.... I do agree that he looked extremely uncomfortable and not sexy at all in the Details shoot. If that is any indication of his abilities - he should not even try... I can;t wait to see his appearance in LL this fall - may be I'll change my mind re his acting skills. ;D
You mention Meatloaf - He hit the music scene in the 70's like a "bat out of hell" and sold millions of albumns, had many hits, became iconic - do you think there would be a place for him on today's charts?? I personally doubt it :(
