Probably not -- but he had trouble in the 1970's too. Took him 20 years to score a hit single. Meat Loaf has one of the top selling albums of all time -- "Bat Out of Hell" (1977) -- selling over 43 million copies (through 2009). > It peaked at #14 in the US but ended up certified US 14x Platinum > Bat Out of Hell II: Back Into Hell (1993) was a #1 album in US and many other countries. Meat Loaf has many singles -- but only one #1 hit -- "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" (1992) > It was his 29th single. > Out of 47 singles -- only only 9 singles ever charted in the US Billboard Hot 100. And his #1 hit is also his only Top 10 hit. He did not fair better with singles in other markets. I am a huge fan of Mr. Loaf who is actually still pretty amazing live -- but once was fantastic. [Adam is better.] Wow do you know everything? I just assumed his singles were big hits because I heard them all the time on the radio while in college - they were part of my "soundtrack of life" ("Two out of Three Ain't Bad" was one of my favorite songs). Aside from vocal power and theatrics, Meat is also an actor (loved him in Rocky Horror), so that's something else they have in common. I just hope Adam avoids the mental and physical breakdowns .... I am a fan of Mr. Loaf!! And I am married to a mega fan! The disparity between Meat Loaf's album sales and lack of single sales has always been interesting to me. But I also checked Billboard and a ML site for chart ranks -- everything is on the web! --- Another really similar case is Pink Floyd -- sold 75 million albums in the US, over 250 million worldwide. Dark Side of the Moon is believed to have sold over 50 million copies worldwide. The band has one hit single -- also #1 -- "Another Brick in the Wall (Part II)" --- Both Meat Loaf and Pink Floyd are album era artists -- it was a very different world. In the digital age, sales patterns have changed. But we still have artists like this -- for example Muse.

OT- sorry but family is asleep and I am so PO'd that I have to rant to someone or I will totally blow my mind. The all-around ladies gymnastics final floor exercise scoring was a travesty. The last girl's routine was sheer, powerful floating perfection. By all rights, her score should have earned her the gold, not Gabby. It reeked of favoritism or something. I am USA but that was sooo wrong. I hate subjective judging. >:( Such OT rant won't happen again from me - I promise. :-/ BTW-no - I have never heard of John Barrowman, so I hope Adam's career is more visible than that. Gabby's floor exercise was great too. But the thing that lost the Russian girl the gold was her landing on the vault. Taking several steps out of bounds really cost her points The scores from all 4 of each person's routines (vault, uneven bars, balance beam, & floor exercise) are added together since this was the "all around" competition and not the "individual apparatus" competitions.

I hear you, BUT all Komova needed was a 15.360 on the floor to win gold, and they awarded her 15.100. A unjustly low score for a perfect packed routine. I say the fix was in. :-/

This is what we're doing here, right? Hypothesizing on what Adam might do or not. I totally suggest you ask your male gay actor friends how much FUN it is playing a str8 love interest and if they'd expect Adam to chose that as his FIRST MOVIE ROLE! How may people are going to CAPSLOCK ME "IT'S CALLED ACTING".Maybe wanna re-read what I actually SAID LOL. No shade, I'm going to assume we have some non native language speakers here getting up in arms. Since I'm vegan, I am not remotely interested in acting in a movie about hunting UNLESS I NEED TO PAY THE BILLS. sigh. Probably a ton, because you don't seem to get the concept of ACTING! My DD is a hardcore theatre person and I can tell you that over the past decade I have seen hundreds of gay individuals play straight roles or straight people play gay roles. This would include everything from high school plays, to community theatre, to regional theatre and also on Broadway. I've seen performances from actors playing SOMEONE THEY ARE NOT that have ripped my heart out or left me convinced they have to be like whatever role they are playing in real life. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. IT'S CALLED ACTING! Maybe you have never been involved in theatre or film or any kind of serious acting and you don't understand this concept. Mass murderers do not play mass murderers. Actors with mental illness do not play crazed lunatics. A saint doesn't play Jesus. Actors don't just play roles they would "enjoy". Acting isn't real life! Two people don't actual have sex when acting in plays and film. They PRETEND to have sex while hundreds of people watch in the studio or on the stage. It's all scripted, it isn't real life!
Late catching up with thread. Couldn't keep my mouth shut. THANK YOU tigerlily.

Cassidy auditioned Season 9. So you were partially correct Didn't Cassidy make it to the Producers? Yes, he did and they showed him quickly when they were doing a clip of Adam Lambert types.
