I can't believe it's been a week since Thackerville! Still hugging myself with the good memories. I know the link was posted here with the concert photos taken by timeofdaffodils. I ordered a set of the prints and they are going to be a terrific keepsake of the show. Wanted to share a few that brought me to my knees. Don't know if any of these have been shared before, so sorry for any repeats. Here is the complete link: timeofdaffodils.smugmug.com/Music/Adam-Lambert-Thackerville/24431454_VKQ9vs#!i=1992426535&k=H65MPbc Adam's chest lookin' good: For Team Nose: A number of times during the concert, the house lights were turned up so Adam could see us. I have often thought that Adam looks at his audience this way so he can remember us in his heart later: No words are needed:

I think there is something wrong with the sound mix on the Billboard Triumphant Livestream. I will wait until I hear the real song before making a judgment on the vocal.
---
I prefer when the key vocal is more tightly integrated into the rap portion of songs like this. Airplane, Empire State of Mine, Love the Way You Lie --- there are so many good example of how to fuse pop/R7B vocals and rap to create something really powerful. This still seems ordinary to me.
>> Put me on the #DoNotWantAdam2FollowThisTrend list. (I think I am the only one.) But if Adam wanted to cover Run-D.M.C. - Walk This Way - and do the Steven Tyler part it would be fine with me. (Adam doing "Walk This Way" would be amazing.)
>> I am really puzzled by the comments that Mariah's part is "Philly Soul" inspired. How can it be with no backbeat? Wrong chords? Sounds like a pop vocal to me.
I would like to hear Mariah do some neo Philly Soul music. Adam actually has a bit of it on a couple Trespassing tracks.

I think the AI confessionals show that AFL was keenly aware, even back then, that giving fans some direct contact was a key component to creating a strong base for later success. He continued the trend, signing so much after nearly every AI concert, and now through twitter.
His intelligence and vision span the spectrum. No worries here, just looking forward to the next new thing while trying to decide which Trespassing song is today's favourite.

Watching the confessionals was loads of fun. What impressed me the most was how little Adam has changed, actually. His goal, his message, his point of view is the same. It was clear way back then that he was obsessed and knowledgeable about all types of music and that he was keenly aware of all that goes into delivering a compelling performance. His consistency over the years testifies to his authenticity. ILHSFM

Interesting article on Hot and Mainstream AC radio (HAC and AC) from Alan Burns. www.allaccess.com/net-news/archive/story/108810/adult-contemporary-s-demographic-fault-line-is-nowThis article explains how the critical Adult Pop Market has shifted: (This is Adam's biggest potential music-buying market -- Women 18/25-45.) 1. The HAC/AC target has almost entirely shifted to Top 40 crossover pop and rhythmic pop music -- Trespassing is neither. "Top 40 crossover pop, and pop rhythmic hits, now look good all the way up to and including 40 to 44 year old women" 2. 70's and 80's music is out -- and now preferred only by women over 45. Trespassing incorporates a lot of 70's and 80's influences. In another study that came out yesterday, the classic rock fans were men over 50. That includes bands like Queen. >> So the association with Queen is probably not of interest to most women under 45. (Or most women from what I can find in other studies.) ***** JMHO -- more proof that RCA should release Cuckoo as the next single. It is the most current track on the album and does not have the retro influences (70's inspired bassline) of Trespassing.

Thanks! This explains why it seems like some reviewers are hearing a different track than me -- they are.
