I think the AI confessionals show that AFL was keenly aware, even back then, that giving fans some direct contact was a key component to creating a strong base for later success. He continued the trend, signing so much after nearly every AI concert, and now through twitter. His intelligence and vision span the spectrum. No worries here, just looking forward to the next new thing while trying to decide which Trespassing song is today's favourite. I see it a bit differently. I think Adam does it, and keeps doing it, because he never takes anyone's love or appreciation of his work for granted and never will. I feel he is honestly grateful for it, his last night's promise of not letting us down nearly killed me. As if he needs, or feels the urge to show us he loves us back. Like we're in a goddamn meaningful relationship or something, jfc... But I'm just a lovesick fool, don't listen to me. Probably there is a bit of the business intent of creating a stronger fan base thrown into the mix, but that can't be his major motivation for doing it. My Trespassing favourite for today is Kickin In. I'm the fan of the live version and can't get enough of it.

IMHO I think Adam wanted to respond to the world wide tweet about wanting him to do Trespassing concert tour Shoshanna tweeted her surprise and maybe she sent Adam a look at this your world wide fans...

Oh wow! So different!! OK, now I "get" the Pop version. Interesting to release 3 different versions right off the bat. Very smart, I think!

Watching the confessionals was loads of fun. What impressed me the most was how little Adam has changed, actually. His goal, his message, his point of view is the same. It was clear way back then that he was obsessed and knowledgeable about all types of music and that he was keenly aware of all that goes into delivering a compelling performance. His consistency over the years testifies to his authenticity. ILHSFM Yes!! That is what I love about watching them too! It is so Adam! ILHSFM!!!!!! Q3, my suggestion for tomorrow's "Must Have" (because it would go well with the confessionals) is the interview he did with Michael Slezak the week after the Idol Finale. His focus on his album and what he wanted were so clear!

Q3 wroteTrespassing is about as Pop as you can get, IMO! And it does have a retro sound but it is fused with modern production, like Karmin's music and Adele and Neon tress. IMO, all of these have a retro sound similar to the Trespassing songs. Heck, even Fun is a modern retro sound. I actually think retro is very, very in right now. That's why I think Shady could be a big hit. It reminds me of Rolling in the Deep, a lot! But the talk/singing that both Adam and Sam do is more modern. And why the hell am i never part of these studies that label what I am supposed to be liking! [/IMG]

Trespassing Deluxe is #20 on Amazon's Movers and Shakers list right now, up 132% from 397 to 171.

I think Shady could be a big hit too as long as radio is first primed with a hit.
