Catzmadam, wonderful, wonderful reading. I had tears in my eyes reading about the tears in your eyes watching Adam's vids at 2:00 in the morning. I love your beautiful pictures. Such a lucky lady. Please continue with your trip prose. Loving it.

Catzmadam You have me hanging off the edge of my seat! LOVE! So glad I got to meet you at FS.
I also remember the crying statement, because, who hearing it here could ever forget it? :(

Talking about songs telling stories, one of my favorites is Harry Chapin. All his songs were stories.

I've been curious about his for a while watching the Hammersmith videos.. does anyone know what function the guy who is crouching on the steps on Roger's drumming platform serves? I also noticed a guy doing the same thing next to Isaac's platform during one of Adam's concerts. Not that I know anything about the matter, but I remember asking myself the same question ever since I saw a guy crouching next to Roger's drum set during the EMAs and I googled it and I think it's the drum technician. Here's a thing about Bruce Springsteen's drum technician which is quite interesting www.drummagazine.com/features/post/a-day-in-the-life-of-a-drum-tech/and this is about QUEEN, scroll down and there's a bit about Nigel Burchett, who's their drum technician. mixonline.com/livesound/tours/audio_queen_paul_rodgers/Thanks for the info. It really takes a village to put on a show. I'm still not sure what their function is during the show when they are right next to the platform steps.

Another point on the remix thing... A good remix is another way to get your music placed in film/media if the remix fits the movie better than the single, so that is another way an artist can make money from a remix. (the original artist, not the remixer, alas) My son had a remix he did for a group named Yacht placed in recent- ish movie called Project X. Since MWP reminded me it is off the grid day, I'll post a link here. I've forgotten how to embed. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgnDRJk0Qxo&feature=youtube_gdata_playerMWP: I'll find a link to the Gossip remix. He makes a kind of chill type of indie hipster dance music called nu-disco which is kind of the antithesis of dub step, lol. It is often referred to as summer pool music as well. Listen past the first 30 seconds or so which is just the intro beat for a DJ mix to transition between songs Okay, here is the link www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHxUZe_Wguk&feature=youtube_gdata_playerLynne, you son did a fantastic job with this; I really like it. Went to Itunes, but I couldn't find it. Will it be on Itunes soon? ETA: Had to fix the typo -- song to son.

Bob Seger's Turn the Page is an instance when lyrics and music combine to evoke strong emotion. There is no dissonance between the words and the music, it is seamless. No bumps, no wrong steps and you can imagine what it is like to be in the songwriter's position.
Chokehold actually does the same thing for me. That is one sexy song about sex and the way intense momentary pleasure can subvert even the most rational thought.
