The footage just at the beginning of this vid [part 6 of behind the music] shows Adam addressing his fears just after the AMA's. It doesn't spend much time on them but I do remember an interview somewhere in which he confessed to crying and being really really stressed out about the whole affair...and I agree, it was not just after everything happened but some time down the road.
Not much help I know....

ETA: Catz I am not materialistic but I want a Brian May guitar pick. Very jealous right now.
*hides pick before posting*
Awww...*pets yew* I'm happy to share photos of it with you Q3 It has Queen logo on one side and Brian's siggie on t'other ;D They're promotional only. Brian doesn't use a pick apparently, but uses a coin instead.

Thank you all for your warm welcome, Thanks Q3 for your response. One of the reasons I like this place is the positive attitude that many times I need. Not that I am very pessimistic, but I need to be convinced when I doubt. I knew that there would be single #3 and even #4. But I would be very disappointed if the label drops a single just because it was in the plan before, without proper strategy to support it. The more singles flop, the worse the artist looks and the chance for his music to be played on the radio will be slimmer. The label didn't make a lot of efforts to push the first 2 singles. I was hoping the idol gig would be their promotional tool this time. But it doesn't sound it's gonna happen. They need to do something else. Otherwise they should not release the 3rd single until they can think of something else to promote it. What can the "something else " be??? Can someone guess??? Good question, and I have no answer. We don't know what he's doing the next few months, and that means no consistent promotion. A stint on Leno or Ellen, an appearance on a tv show like PLL, more concerts with Queen, offer sporadic, short-lived visibility. He needs more, and he needs it soon; another six months with no single, low sales, and appearances here and there are going to hurt him. Without idol, it's down to rca, and that is not good. RCA may or may not have supported btikm and ncoe. If they did not support those singles, they are unlikely to change direction and support a third single. Why would they start spending time and money if they didn't before, when it was far more important? If they fully supported those singles, then they spent money on two songs that did not work. They might be justifiably reluctant to spend further on a third single. If they supported those singles halfway, then they'll support the third single halfway, as, again, what would be their incentive to change course now?

I don't like anyone I love to be sad. I don't think anyone made a big deal about it, unless I missed some posts. I'm just trying to find the damn interview! Huh? Really? I think if I knew a person who is always cheery/happy and never sad, I would perceive that as unnatural. Is of course their choice to be that way, but I doubt we would become true friends, tbh. Do you like to see your friend or loved one be sad, of course not, but I would perceive it as natural. Different perspective, different expectation towards friendship, I guess. As far as Adam, we obviously all are only guessing. I do not recall one specific sentence or article that would confirm what you are looking for, but rather some sleuthing / interpreting along the lines of.... Adam said he cried over a movie and perhaps he was just in a mood for a cry + Dec 09 is right after the amas ==> Adam cried his eyes out after the ama's. I do recall an interview where Adam said that right after the amas everything was a bit overwhelming, but that is about all he let on at the time. I bet in reality there was far more going on, but I don't think we fans got concrete information from him about it at any time. He is open towards the public, but perhaps not quite SO open, and I think that is quite understandable and ok too. Expecting someone to always be cheery is not the same thing as being sad when a loved one is sad. If my daughter or son is sad, am I supposed to be happy about if? I think having empathy for someone's sadness is a valid way to feel. Don't see why someone's feelings should be criticized.

I also remember it. It was a print interview but I cannot find it. LOL the fandom legend that will not die! Okay, if anyone can find this elusive non-existent print interview that talks about Adam crying after the AMAs I'll donate $25 to the charity of the finder's choosing (as long as it's not a charity that does horrible things). I will donate too. I was almost sure that the interview you posted was the one everyone was referring to. Before you posted the interview today, I even talked about that particular interview on a pm with a member at Atop here. I think I know everything , especially something serious enough to remember but I'm not perfect so I needed to know if I missed something. I just needed a confirmation and thank you so much again NoAngel for taking the time and do a research. After you posted the video today, I did a little research to various forums, IDF , here in the past , and it all comes up to this interview. The words everyone was using is "Adam watched Gossip Girls but he said he "just felt he needed to cry", so the assumption is that he wanted to cry about the AMA stuff, since this interview was right after the AMA's . And yes, as NoAngel already said about this interview , "it's a logical leap, but still, we don't really know"Don't want to continue this subject but my inner "facts girl" thinks that everything else is a game of telephone.

We've already moved on to the new thread but this, I'll have to kindly and strongly disagree!
1. Just because we, the fans, are not in the know, it does NOT mean there's no "consistent promo" or a plan, or anything; it means nothing.
2. I don't think any appearances would hurt an artist.
3. Even Adam gets the Idol gig, IMO, it will still be down to RCA for the most part of course, Idol will definitely help things along the way but Idol is NOT a guarantee of anything!
4. The multi singles appeared to be part of strategy from the get-go, per RCA Executive's interview back in May. IMO, RCA didn't pull all the stops on the first 2 singles 'cuz it would be unwise to keep pushing when all signs were indicating "not working"; and that, RCA doesn't appear to be as aggressive as their competitor "Interscope" when it comes to radio. Most importantly, I believe Adam is too business savvy and smart to release a new single without serious support from RCA.
