I don't like when someone bursts my bubbles. It's like kicking puppies...or drowning kittens... ( yes, I'm drunk again)
In the future, could the bubble-bursters write a warning on top of the post... something like *bubble burst*
Interestingly enough, I always read the posts which come with the *scroll alert* warning. But I would definitely not be reading the *bubble bursts*. I want my bubbles shiny and in full size.

Okay, Queen experts...what is the name of the album that has love of my life on it? As noted one post later...the original love of my life is on a night at the opera. That one is a bit different as it is full instrumentation including piano, harp, and Brian on the Red Special . Any of the live albums - Live Killers, On Fire At The Bowl, Rock Montreal, or Live At Wembley have the type of version you heard during the QAL shows... I like Live Killers and Montreal versions best No Angel - nice essay. Just to point out that I honestly think most of the Queen died with Freddie thing would go all away if Brian and Roger either chose a new name or just went out as May/Taylor + Adam Lambert. Using the name Queen really is more if the sticking point because it can't be Queen without Freddie and John. That's what Queen signifies to that vocal minority. Myself. I know it's just good business sense and rational thought. I k is I'm not really seeing Queen...but it's as close as I can come Yup, Talon, I totally get it, and I've seen exactly this thought expressed on Queen sites. I guess it comes down to Brian and Roger, though. They own the rights to the name and they decide whether to use it or not. If I might be so bold, the fans who feel this way are Queen purists. Queen was Freddie + Brian + Roger + John. Take any part of it out and it's not Queen. (Although I wonder if the feeling would be different if let's say it was Brian or Roger or John alone who left the equation, and Freddie was still around. As a general rule the vocalist is considered more "important," for sure). Anyway I'm totally projecting but I would guess that Brian and Roger might be saying, "Fuck it, we wrote or co-wrote these songs. It was our blood, sweat, and tears that went into this band. We're playing the same songs. We're going to use the name that is rightfully ours to use. The fans can like or it not." LOL Definitely not saying how people should feel, and as a new Queen fan I really get that I DON'T get it the same way. But IMO saying May/Taylor + [insert vocalist du jour] doesn't make much sense when every single song is a Queen song. JMHO YMMV etc

Twitter as well as forums or other interactive web media can be a very democratic and equalizing tool. Everybody can read, everybody can be touched by an article, and good posts can travel far.
It used to be that only journalists could reach a broad audience and of course they still do, but others get to have a voice too, nowadays.
It was one of my regrets while reading reviews in the UK press, to find that the middle segment of the concert, where Roger and Brian were taking the vocal reigns was so misrepresented and mostly dissed. I found that not only snotty and disrespectful from those reviewers, but just outright unjustified and wrong. Those sections were special to me and I was listening mostly as an Adam fan and only secondarily with Queen's catalog and history in mind. If music touches you, that is music well performed. So, I always thought those reviewers got it wrong.
NoAngel has brought that out in her essay and said it in much better words than I ever could, no need to repeat it. But this now gets to travel the web too, and while it will not reach the circulation of those publications, it will reach many layers within the Queen fanbase and that is a good thing.
It deserved to be corrected and NoAngel gave it wings and clearly her words were gladly received. I am very happy about that contribution in righting a wrong and in that sense I do hope that B&R actually get to read what NA said. I only followed the concerts on the internet, but my impression was that the fan base distinctly appreciated that interlude and perceived it differently than those commentaries in the press would indicate.

I should have put a *bubble burst* warning at the top of my post :D But I'm going to choose to believe that Brian and Roger (and Adam) carefully read each tweet and post that their webmistress puts out there

Does anyone have a YouTube or any video link of Adam's Hollywood Week -The Chairs? It's the episode when the Top 36 were chosen, before he sang Satisfaction. Thanks, in advance. This one "the chairs" situation is at 6:06 Uploaded by lissbeth06 on Oct 10, 2010 American Idol season 8- Adam Lambert "Beginning" including Audition, Hollywood week and results.

It's the kind of person he is! She may post it, but I'd be surprised if he doesn't know every single thing that is put on there!

I found that not only snotty and disrespectful from those reviewers, but just outright unjustified and wrong. I totally agree with this. Besides, the songs in the R/B section were more gentle to begin with. It's called programming--adding variety to the concert. It gives the concert ebb and flow, relaxation and tension.
