Oooooo. That IS interesting. I was disgusted to find that my local walmart was not carrying trespassing when it was released in may. I should go back and check if they are now stocking it. Hmmmm, indeed. Can someone with some knowledge of promo and stocking brick and mortars answer my question... Can a label (or distributing arm) push product to outlets, rather than outlets requesting product? I kind of wonder if they are gearing up for single #3. I went with my 8 year old this morning to target to by Kid Bop #22 (on the condition that I do not have to listen to Call Me Maybe ever again). I went to check and see if Trespassing was on the shelf since its been out of stock for.. I don't know how long. There it was. I didn't count the CDs, but my local Target is the size of a closet and the music selection is pretty anemic. I was really, really surprised to see it in stock, much less front and center with in the "L" section of POP. On a side note: The Kids Bop #22 is pretty funny. The remake of some of the lyrics this time around is comical. Yes, there are ways a label can get more product into the retail channel -- they go put together a special offer with the retail merchant (buyer), they can give the retailer coop advertising money in exchange for increasing stock levels, they can pay the retailer for in-store promotion and stocking, or they can consign inventory to a retailer. There are other ways, but those are the big ones. Generally, music stock levels are increased for Labor Day weekend as part of a seasonal replenishment model. So stock levels for all music that is selling will go up now. There does not appear to be any major chain-wide re-merchandising of Trespassing going on at Best Buy, Target or Walmart (Anderson). So far we have one report from one Best Buy. It may be as simple as they had a lot of stock of Trespassing in that store and decided to try to move it vs. returning it to the vender OR this was one store trying to fill up a fixture with the inventory they had on hand. >> Best Buy is really struggling right now and has inventory levels really low. The store teams are doing some very unusual things to make the stores look full. You will see this across the US and Canada right now because consumers are not buying much. If this was chain-wide, we would see it in all the Best Buy music departments. This also does not appear to be remerchandising in one of Best Buy's format plan-a-grams, because it is one report.

Hi guys. Ive just come back from quite tiring shift at work so I didnt have a chance to read all the news but I can tell you, Adam is a very strong motivation to earn money.... Btw Id like you to tell me what do you think of my English. And please, dont glamorize the reality. I know this question is totally self-centric and OT but imho it could help me very much to know the truth from the mouths of native speakers. Thanks. I'm being completely honest when I say that if I didn't know you weren't a native speaker, I would not have guessed. I continue to be in awe of those on this board who communicate so beautifully in a second language.

The only things I notice are: 1. Occasionally you miss the punctuation in contractions --- didn't vs. didnt for example. The ' stands for the missing "o". 2. And sometimes you do not understand an American cultural reference. (But I miss some of those too! Everyone does.) Now I am not one to judge spelling!! I will leave that to others. ETA: North Americans live in a bit of isolation. We have a lot of diversity but it is within our countries/culture. So we are not always conscience that something in done or said only in America.

Thanks for the response. My Target is usually forgotten since it is so small.. so I'm always amazed when (seasonal) items are restocked. The labor day stocking makes sense, plus our schools don't start back for a few more weeks. Its still summer for us so it makes sense that the items up for restock for us are school supplies, summer items, shoes, movies and music.

But Q3, haven't we had 4-5 members say that either their Best Buy, Walmart or Target has restocked this week? And not just 2-3 albums either. I know we are a small sampling, but it is definitely more than one.

It's great :D English isn't my first language either, I find writing it really easy but speaking it is another story, probably cause I come from somewhere where people talk really quickly, I stumble and slur a lot of words unless I put on a different accent. Like English or Australian or something

Thanks so much for those remarks Q. I must confess that I miss the punctuation because of my laziness to switch the keyboard :-[ I know it substitutes 'o' in not. And maybe I should do something about understanding of American culture, I mean, the best way could be to travel to America and spend some quality time there.... Thank you all for the interesting opinions. I'd like to contribute more to this discussion but unfortunately I'm being exhausted. Good night everybody.

Honestly, I don't even think much of the punctuation. I will often read and respond to posts from my cell phone. Often its far too difficult to make corrections, so I just let it go as is.

Well because they say it's NOT what it is. Brian and Roger are not Queen. Queen is Freddie, Brian, Roger, and John. Without Freddie or John is it disingenuous to call it Queen. PLEASE NOTE - I'm not one who gets in arms with what they call it. To me it's the surviving members of Queen doing the Queen catalogue. So screw it. BUT I do see their point. To some it would be like Adam Lambert's backing band taking James Durbin going out as "The Adam Lambert Band" with James singing Adam's songs. Ok so not QUITE the same but that's as close as I could come to what they are feeling... Maybe they could just call themselves Two Mercenary Old Gits + An American Talent Show Reject Present the Music of Queen. : I like it!
