I agree with those here who think that NJonas is out of contention and is just milking the news cycle. If Fox had a choice between NJ and Adam and picked Nick, then they deserve every drop in ratings that they ever have gotten. But I don't think they are that stupid, actually. There may be others who are serious contenders alongside Adam, but NJ is not it. We will have to see. I am still somewhat hopeful.

As far as schedule: The audition rounds bring Adam into 6 or 7 different cities around the country. Perfect opportunity for some radio promo for the new single and making AI pay for most of the travel cost. Of course there could also be a one-off concert here or there that just presently cannot be announced, because it would be too obvious.
I think that Adam is very frugal when it comes to finding opportunities to bundle up certain events with promotional activities or other things that are supportive to his own career.

In the same vein, if Queen+AL are planning some more touring, I think it will rather be something along the lines of

Trip to South America for 3-4 QAL concerts....break in schedule. Or Asia, or whatever....and then they might pick up another set of stops a little bit later. Not one continuous tour for months on end.

Again, if something like that happened, Adam would totally use the opportunity to add some own promotion or own one-off concerts to the schedule. He used local artists as a backing band in the UK, he could do the same in other regions of the world too, if needed.

The only thing that would be happening substantially later because of AI would be a full Trespassing tour. Given that Adam is still rolling out singles and promoting the album throughout 2012, I think that this is no problem at all. We are enjoying all the one-off concerts and promotional events just as much as a tour. He can let the album build momentum. The core audience base is going nowhere and will attend a tour concert next year just as much as this year.

In fact, I think he is doing it exactly right. Find a way to slowly build and promote and album outside of radio, while these radio PDs are behaving like dicks and rely on other things than just singles. Not a conventional path, but one that I think suits Adam very well.

In other news, I read that Sharon O. said in one interview that AGT can block her from judging in another show for next 5 years. So, I don't think we will see her on idol. And to be honest, a Mariah / Sharon combination may have entertainment value for sure, but I don't think that the contestant would be either heard or seen within the drama.
For the sake of everyone's sanity I do hope they stay away from turning is show completely into a three ring circus. It's scary, because ratings-wise such jump the shark drama would of course work (at least for a while). Yikes.
