My 2c on Spike's interview:
1. It is basically impossible for me to think he is referring to anything else other than Queen touring. Spike has his own projects, but they are smaller, definitely not warranting a world tour. Plus, he mentions the big world tour right after mentioning the 6 shows he has just finished. It's pretty clear IMO he is talking about a Queen world tour.
2. That being said, it's not 100% a done deal, since he is saying "fingers crossed." My hunch is they are strongly considering the possibility, and probably talking to promoters, trying to see if scheduling-wise it works, etc. But they are DEFINITELY looking into it seriously, IMO.
3. If it does happen, it would be great. I think exposure of all types is good exposure. I used to be a doubter of the Q+AL thing, but Adam can clearly do Trespassing and Queen at the same time. And he's having such a good time up there! And the shows are so good! And he's making a nice chunk of change. So, nothing but win-win for me.
So, in conclusion: SQUEEE! ;D

With all respect, Q3, I've been there when the judges arrive. I've been at rehearsals also, the judges are not there. They arrive for the show about 2 hours before it airs and leave immediately after. That is a total of about 5 hours, on Wed. and Thursday. Hollywood week and Las Vegas week are longer, but once the live shows start in early March, it should be a pretty easy schedule. Adam mentioned TWO days a week for judging... (I am sure someone remembers the interview).. He said that it is quite doable to have that and other projects and that most judges have many projects going on at the same time.... As far as WHEN the TP tour would take place - IDC, as long as it happens. "I like multitasking"

Hmmm. WATCHING the show. Novel concept! Hadn't ever considered that. Isn't that what my DVR is for? Fast forward, fast forward, oops stop, there is Adam, listen/watch for his two minutes, fast forward, fast forward, fast forward, ADAM, etc. With twelve contestants at first, my poor math says it would take about half an hour to watch the Adam relavent parts of a two hour show. Less each week as the contestants get kicked off. Works for me. Yes, the magic of modern technology makes watching Idol possible. Fast forward through the crap, watch the stuff you like. I do watch some of the singers, and then some I do not. I can usually get through an episode if Idol in 45-60 minutes depending on the talent. An what is this rumor of a Queen tour? I have been expecting something just because that six show thing was just way too good and way too short. Why would they want to stop?Right!! Brian, Roger, Spike and Co. have been around waaay too long to know when they have lightning in a bottle. When these things happen you don't just play with them a bit and toss them aside. Especially since the opportunities may not come around in a year or two or more or if they do, maybe all the players involved won't have the health or stamina they appear to have now. Seeing their joyous faces when performing, it's impossible to imagine they wouldn't love to keep recreating that feeling when they have the chance.

Could this maybe tour with Queen mean he did not get the idol gig? I know nothing. About Idol judge selection. About Queen prospects. About Trespassing tour. It seems to me that doing Idol takes about 5 hours a day, two days a week. That leaves five days a week open. Fly out one day. Sound check and shopping in a new city the next day. Queen gig in a huge ass venue for mega bucks the third day. Fly home the fourth day. Stay in bed with Sauli the fifth day. And repeat. Seems doable to me. I like the way you think. All things are possible, and doable, if the planning and motivation are there. Adam is forging his own path, no need to look to what others have done in the past. I am as excited about where his life is going as I was on the day AI8 ended. Oh, and my favorite thing is that there is a day saved for a personal life to help everything else make sense.

I'm at the point that if Adam isn't on the show ,than there isn't much reason for me to watch anymore. I'm tired of the real talent losing out to WGWG& so sick of the judges not judging or giving constructive advice. I think Mariah has a great voice that she no longer uses. She has IMHO totally dumbed down in order to sell & the Jonas boy moves me not at all.I watched Idol maybe four times last season, and not at all the season before that. Adam was and is my lightening rod.. without him on the show, there is no electricity for me. Hmmm. WATCHING the show. Novel concept! Hadn't ever considered that. Isn't that what my DVR is for? Less each week as the contestants get kicked off. Works for me. This is the process I've used for the last 3 years. I can pretty much guarantee you that the 2hrs can be condensed into 19 minutes and that was without Adam and before you decide which contestants aren't even worth a listen that week. With Adam as a judge, I'd still scroll past all the soap opera stuff but listen to the performances and his evaluation. We'll see what happens.

What about all the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for Adam!!! EXACTLY! This would be 100% a WIN/WIN thing for him - and for US! As he said he "loves multi-tasking". And what better way to multi-task than a WW tour with Queen interspersed with Idol/Trespassing Tour?

Bottom line for me is this:
Which one of the following would Adam pass on the career advancement, money and fun for, because of TIME issues?
-Trespassing promotion/tour -Queen tour -American Idol
Answer (IMHO): NONE OF THEM!!!!!!!!!
If these things don't happen it will be for other reasons than that he couldn't work them in somehow. Multi-tasking is an understatement for this man. He is tireless for what he wants. If given the opportunity he will jump in and leave the rest of us panting at his heels.
I believe Spike was talking about a potential Queen tour. We are all talking about it, why wouldn't they? Adam asks his fans for patience--all this takes time, but the fun never seems to stop coming!

gelly - we can always rely on your recall! tx! I agree with everyone saying that ALL is possible! IMO the likelihood of having a small world tour with QUEEN is quite high... lifetraveler -your reasons are exactly what I see as well My 2c on Spike's interview:
1. It is basically impossible for me to think he is referring to anything else other than Queen touring. Spike has his own projects, but they are smaller, definitely not warranting a world tour. I can't state it any better, and the bolded part especially. I am also quite bullish on the AI thing...mostly because of the "coming back to OK" remark. Do you think that any announcement re AI will be after the Olympics are over?
